I play on PC too josef and agree with you on what you say, but i had found with a little bit of curl and the right timing of the power meter, have found it easy to score top corners. But have had many a shot trickle to the keeper like a backpass.

Bibus, i take your point and will work on the flaming attitude, but lighten up too, it wasn't meant to provoke you personally.

No problem , I just took it personnally because I do enjoy the game and that was meaning that I don't know **** about soccer ...right ?
I do recon the game has several flaws but almost anything is customizable ...and for myself I prefer fifa2003 style of header because I always felt it was way too easy in the previous versions to just beat the AI to the ball ...

Actually Bibus, i like the principle of the header, but....

Why all headers are assigned to the one button, seems ludicrous.

I liked it when they were assigned to the Shoot, Pass, and Lob buttons, cos you got exactly what you wanted if you were first to the ball.

Now, when i'm trying to head at goal, all i do is a looping header. same goes for the volleys. Please tell me if i'm doing something wrong, but i found this to be consistant no matter what buttons i press.

I don't care what anybody says, a football game is not a football game unless it has at least some curl in it.

Curling in to the top corner in a close game gets me running round my office celebrating as though i was at wembley.

It's about time EA stopped being cowardly and stepped out to talk in an interview with the community. I want to know their reasonings behind some of the decisions they've made on this game.

It was probably EA in Canada who created this version, hence the F*** up.

Are you working on a patch for 2003. I looked at your website, but no sign of Fifa 2003. Just wondering if you're able to sort these problems out....don't suppose it's as easy as that?

Agreed, lay the cards out on the table, altho' reviews are pretty meaningless to me, after all reviews are only one mans\persons opinion, so if any 'none compliance' review isn't posted here, it will usually be posted on Fifa Sites elsewhere on the Net, in fact i have another review from a Fifa Webmaster that hasn't yet been published, and so for what it's worth you will all be informed when it is. ==

Well, another 4 page review has been posted up on another Fifa site, and it seems to cover many good and bad points about the game, which is fair enough hey, in fact it spells out quite a few of the things that have started to be posted in here over the past week or so, and also mentions the forthcoming battle for the on line gaming supremacy when PES goes online, and of course the probable winner of that encounter. ==

This is a day after, and the most I will give it is a 6. Perhaps a 2 for controls, because after all, I can control the game to some degree.

The censorship thing, Matt, is a disgrace in my opinion. Because YOU don't feel it is true? That's why you do your review, and others do theirs. Reviews are based on peoples' opinions, not just yours. I'm doing fine in playing the game now at World Class, at about 6-9-2 (W-L-T). I did post this after losing one of those games, but I've had my fair share of wins too, and I still think the same things I said to open the thread.

We and other websites have been giving this game too much slack in our reviews the past few years, when, honestly, the other EA Sports games (still not that great) dwarf the FIFA series in control and gameplay (not including stats, team authenticity, etc.). Year after year we see something cool in the other EA games and think, "How great would that be if it was in FIFA?" It never happens.

I agree with the idea that some poeple need to spend more time mastering the controls. Yes the curving issue REALLY PISSES ME OFF, although I do feel this game is more realistic than any other FIFA. It took me 2 full seasons to start winning on world class(longer than any other FIFA) and I now have more satisfaction when I do win than ever before. I don't understand why they leave out so many good attributes that were in previous FIFA's but all in all I enjoy this game. I've said this before but this FIFA actually makes you play the game like a real football match. I never understood how unrealistic the other FIFA versions were until this game came out.

I must say that fifa 2k3 is the start of good game, but somewhere down the road al the good intentions are lost and it seems to me they had to throw the game at the market unfinished, i bet if the game was developped at a normal pace the header problem, the weird way to kick a goal kick and free kicks on your own half and other gameplayprobs wouldn't have existed. I believe they shouldn't bring out a game every year at the same moment but a totally finished game every 2 years with the european cup an world cup in the real game, but hey it's all about the money as long as we buy it they gonna release fairly good games, while the have the potential to sell the perfect game

i dont have any problems with the controls or anything, I think is the best fifa so far, but I dont agree with censuring a review when he is stating his opinion.

The controls are worst than the others because there isn't any change. It's Similar to fifa 2002.

More complaints:

What's the point of running? Any time you run the player suddenly doesn't "have control of the ball" and the ball is stolen away--you know the defender is coming. He then shoulder barges your striker for about three strides and then takes the ball. During this time you can do nothing but watch. The only reason I can see for running is on defense because you can actually catch up.

Freekicks: This is BS. Why cant you move players around or see where you want to kick it--on defence and offense.

Heading/Trapping: I had two goals scored off of me this way. You know the defender is waiting to steal the ball, so you try frantically to get your guy to head it. Instead, he brings it down to his feet and it's stolen away. Complete BS again. I can't do anything about it (aka LACK OF CONTROL). Yes, I did just get thwamped by RC Lens 5-0 with equal amounts of shots on goal [6] (hey, I tied Galatasary 1-1 the game before).

Shielding: Why can the computer shield the ball so wonderfully and any time we try the computer will just shove my guy out of the way and take the ball?
