This is not just Nady bullshit I promise but it should be noted that city started last season five wins in five too, so we shouldn't crown them quite yet....

Hahaha typical Pep bullshit

I think pep nice guy image is a facade and that he is actually the biggest managerial asshole in the game, he is just so good it goes unnoticed - notice his instigation against Rooney last week which he covered up with that handshake and then this huge cutting blow at Mourinho which goes in disguise of him just 'being a good sport' and praising his latest opponents

What makes Pep special isn't buying players (most of his purchases are flops) or anything else, it's that he is the best teacher in the world. Players respect him and listen and he turns them into smart players.

He just spent 170 m which is more than any other teams including Man U who spent 100 on a single player.

Anyway hats off to Joe "Pop" Guardiola. He is doing a good job and that's what I expected him to do.

The way they play this season is different though, I have to admit.

I also never bullshit. Most things I say become true but none of you will admit it.

He spent a lot this summer, no doubt. At Barca and Bayern his success was not based on buying players and as I said, a lot of his purchases flopped. Also, Stones was shit last year. Nolito was where? Celta? Anyone could have had him. No one else new is really playing for City yet.

Mourinho got in a physical fight with Arsene Wenger last year.

Exactly. He hasn't mastered the skills of being a real bastard like pep and therefore engages in these crude antics

Please don't make 'only people who played the game can understand the game' arguments you give me horrible flashbacks of British football punditry

Bailly was a starter in Marcelino's awesome Villarreal.

Yeah I do have to say that whilst I am very impressed with the start Bailly has made, the immediate improvement in Stones from the player I watched often last season is much more apparent.

Stones really was pretty crap last season - we all saw the potential but I thought it would take much longer to extract it and was not even guaranteed to happen at all

I was pretty sure it would happen like this because Guardiola defenders don't have to actually do much defending. Stones' positive qualities can be put on display and he never really has to have his back pinned against his own goal in a desperate situation 5+ times per game.

Strange argument from Arnau considering Mou played at a higher level than he did.

lol.

Anyway interesting read here which explains in depth how important a sweeper-keeper is to Guardiola's teams (and actually overall for possession based ones). Explaining how much big of a difference can starting the play from the back by the goalkeeper can actually make. Also points out why Claudio Bravo actually played such a pivotal role in the Manchester derby (while most thought otherwise) and more -

Definitely worth a read.

Stones was in a pretty crap Everton side last season so it is unfair to compare his performances to City. He has way more support at City than Everton.

You can't compare Messi at Barcelona to Messi at Swansea. At Swansea, Messi would be worse than Ashley Young.
