oh, i've just seen your answer on the template i uploaded. i think i know what you mean







That's the three most common designs i made. If you want a special one from a certain kit i made, let me know. Hope it works, i didn't remove the collars, i don't know if you prefer having or not having them, but you can easily remove them from these templates.

That's interesting the way you play, Liio. I sometimes play as both teams on '05, but i don't use half and half, I usually play a disproportionate amount of the match with one team if its better......otherwise I end up with scores like Guam vs Uruguay being 1-1. I haven't figured out how to properly tweak game settings in '05. This occurs even when team ratings on the menu screens are Uruguay having 3.5 stars out of 5 and Guam having 0.5 stars out of 5, so instead I'd play like 85 mins w/Uruguay and 5 mins with Guam to make it more fair....I still only get scores like 4-0 or 5-0 at best......

hmm... i must admit that i don't understand why you do it. it can be interesting but you play that way all the times?

by the way, there are no off-topic posts in this thread because it's anway just us three in here. i could tell you about how my uncle embarrassed my aunt when he was naked dancing on my grandma's birthday and i wouldn't assume that to be off-topic :)

Well, I was using that as a case and point.

No, I don't always play that way, sometimes I play just as one team in Cups or seasons I create.

But sometimes I like playing tournaments with multiple teams, and I only really use this technique if there's a minnow involved. Thus, if the match is Ukraine vs France, I will play about 40 mins with Ukraine and 50 mins with France, not 85-5. If its Estonia vs England, about 25 - 55, and so forth. The real reason I do this is because i've found, in '05, when switching teams in the middle of the game it becomes extremely difficult to come back for the team behind (if I played 45 mins w/Estonia and scored 2 goals, then changed to England, Estonia's goalie would become super-human in the second half - even if his player rating is like 45 on a scale of 100 in creation centre - and England would be lucky to get a draw).

Anyway, I agree its nice to just chat like this about whatever we like.

It started for me because, when I was a little kid i would get my X-men action figures together and play soccer tournaments with them... There I could be both teams at once. When i started playing virtually i couldn't do that... so this was the next best... i like to give the teams a fair shake at it.

What i've found is that I can actually make the good teams good enough that i have a tough time moving the ball at all... I have to frantically knock the ball around hoping to find an inch of space to lay in a cross or pray that I get a set piece near the goal.

The other thing i'm finding is that is how most of the underdogs are scoring... they have to do it off set pieces... and as soccer tactics go... if you are mismatched and you are the underdog you gotta defend hard and pray to sneak one off a set piece or a lucky counter. it's starting to get very realistic for me i think.

I think for the most part i'm mistaking a good performance by a weak team for my gameplay being messed up... No matter who it is the minnows are gonna have good games... hell Northern ireland beat England during qualifying a few years ago (2005?).

Trinidad beat a Mexican B team (but still a considerably better team) to get into the playoff against bahrain.

I don't think it's perfect yet cause Kazakhstan after 4 games has 7 points and is tied for 2nd in their group but it's pretty close. and I also see much higher scores in minnow vs minnow games... Cyprus 6-4 Georgia for example... When crap teams get together often the goals will rain.

If you can post the contents of the ai files in 2005 I might be able to make a few suggestions... i'm still learning but august knows a good bit too and we might be able to come up with some ideas to maybe seperate the giants from the Peons a bit more on your gameplay. your call man.

Also i'll try playing with those templates... I don't know if it will be tough to recolor them or not.... Typically if i make a design template they would look a little more like this.

If this is the Origional kit



then this would be the design template.



Then I could load my texture template as the bottom layer... load that as a new image, recolor it as needed, then copy and paste as a new layer on top... As what I need to in other layers above... then merge them all down.

but again if that's too much work (cause your kits are very detailed) don't worry about it.

I finished a Samoa Home today... Fantasy cause i'm really learning that the kits on national-football-teams.com aren't really up to date either. their New caledonia kit isn't really even close.

I'm going to try to complete that kit soon.

i made it two clear colours so you can select one for example blue in the puma, change the colour, invert the selection and recolour the red parts. but i can upload the design without the ground colours when i'll come home.

it doesn't really convert well to '06 format... What i may do is attempt to copy the design in the proper format by hand... see if i can just make the design for myself. But i'm a terrible artist so...

Thanks for the try though man. I might just make em in '07 and convert them back too... just dunno how it will look.

making the kit in 07 would really be an option. you can start with 07 format, combine the texture with my files, adjust the colours, THEN convert and in 06 format you add the logos etc so they don't lose quality.

i think rinaldo made a file master for 05... if so you should be able to go under

Data/cmn/ini.big ... inside that file there should be a file called ai.ini

i didn't do much editing with '05 i just didn't know how... so i don't know if the file master is available... i don't know if the files are the same. BUT i do know they were doing gameplay updates for '05 so there must be a way to find that file.

There will be some testing involved to figure out the rules of '05 compared to '06 but in '06 you can create a file called Situation.ini and place it in your main fifa folder and it overrides the existing ai files.

Might take some researching in the '05 editing forum.

I think I may look into it in the editing forum, but probably not for a little while. Right now i'm spending most of my gaming time updating CAF and CONCACAF rosters for my game and also searching for pictures...

BTW, August and Liio, I know there are still some AFC teams with posted pics that haven't yet been made, but if either of you have specific teams that you'd like me to research kit pictures for from CONCACAF or CAF (or even UEFA - I know Georgia and Azerbaijan kits on these forums are out-of-date), just let me know (no guarantees i can find them, but I will spend the time to look :))

should probably give august a chance to catch up... I think keeping that list updated will give us a good idea of what needs to be done and hopefully it will encourage someone to make a monster patch of national teams for '07... though I doubt I will play it.

Yea, I'm cool with waiting as well......just thought i'd throw it out there in case there was anything in particular desired.

It would have to be one heck of a monster patch for me to buy '07 right now.....i've spent a great deal of time trying to get accurate rosters and kits in '05, and then to re-update them so that now I have at least decent rosters in AFC, CONMEBOL, UEFA, and CAF (which I'm currently working on). If I bought '07 now i'd have to recreate a whole boatload of teams and rosters, which I'm not in any mood to do unless a mega-patch already has them.

But I will probably eventually buy a newer version of FIFA because many of the players on '05 are getting out of date.....'05 doesn't have correct faces or in-game audio for many well-know stars already (Podolski, van Persie, Messi, for example).
