Yea, I'm cool with waiting as well......just thought i'd throw it out there in case there was anything in particular desired.

It would have to be one heck of a monster patch for me to buy '07 right now.....i've spent a great deal of time trying to get accurate rosters and kits in '05, and then to re-update them so that now I have at least decent rosters in AFC, CONMEBOL, UEFA, and CAF (which I'm currently working on). If I bought '07 now i'd have to recreate a whole boatload of teams and rosters, which I'm not in any mood to do unless a mega-patch already has them.

But I will probably eventually buy a newer version of FIFA because many of the players on '05 are getting out of date.....'05 doesn't have correct faces or in-game audio for many well-know stars already (Podolski, van Persie, Messi, for example).

I did away with audio entirely. I just have the crowd noise and i'll often have music playing from real player in the background.

One of the things we may consider doing after we get these kits worked out is maybe setting up a list of suggested attributes for players of different nations.

What i did with my game was started with a base number for each team to start from then adjusted players I knew were better/worse than listed. For instance every player on the brazilian team would begin as being somewhere between a 99 and an 89

All Americans would start at between 80 and 70.

Wales was 69-59 (and you would adjust Giggs back up)

Belarus was 68-58 and Hleb would be increased (i think it's Hleb i'm thinking of)

Most team's players fit well into what ever their country's base points were but many teams also have a star or two that would need to be adjusted up.

Just something to think about.

most of my teams that i created, cambodia & friends, have player ratings between 5 and 35, so every team that's worse than bahrain, togo or georgia has a half star.

in 05 and 06 the lowest you can go 20.

What i did was set it up based on the rankings right after the world cup, cause i think they were the most accurate fifa has ever gotten... I actually used augusts, so italy is a little worse than they might have been... france is very good. I would create 1 for each of the 90 values... so 1 team is a 99 1 is a 98 1 is a 97...

did two for the 80s so croatia and usa are both 80-70

three for the 70s

4 for the 60s

5 for the 50s

so forth so on... American samoa is dead last from the rankings... best player is a 40. Comoros' best is 39. That gives me room to add a bunch of complete crap non affiliates later on. and still have the 39-20 values available.

Ya, I have adjusted teams and players in a similar way, and made further adjustments for specific players. The team "star" rating in the game is reflected by the starting lineup, only, though, not the entire squad. But I do have Guam and American Samoa in the 30s on average, San Marino in the 40s or 50s, etc.

I also use a similar system to you (though slightly less complex) regarding determination of the team quality. I just have teams ranked on a scale of 0 to 4 (0 including Guam, American Samoa, and 4 including Germany, England, Holland, etc). 4's would have the starting lineup average in the 80s, 3s in the 70s, etc, and 0s would be varying degrees beneath an average of 50, depending on the level of crappiness (Since Phillipines and Timor-Leste are both 0s, but Phillipines walloped Timor-Leste pretty badly a couple weeks ago). The only exception is Brazil, where players average around the 90s instead of 80s.

I use the World Elo Rankings instead of FIFA rankings, as the Elo Rankings are a bit more fluid in terms of being updated more than once a month (and also they don't randomly fault teams like Guinea into the top 40 as the FIFA once did right after the world cup).

My issue in terms of eventually getting a newer version was more of longer term issue as players get older and younger players are too young to have been included in FIFA 2005 (and thus i'd have to keep creating new players that don't really look correct), as well as several players with faces already missing in '05 as mentioned above.

It would be nice to make an african kit sometimes, at the moment i have 38 asia teams in my game but not even 20 african. So if you want to research these teams, it'd be wonderful:

Benin
Burundi
Central African Republic
Congo Republic
Equitorial Guinea
Eritrea
Ethiopia
Gambia
Kenya
Liberia
Libya
Madagascar
Malawi
Mauritania
Mozambique
Swaziland
Uganda

and CONCACAF

Antigua & Barbuda
Cuba
Dominican Republic
El Salvador
Guyana
St. Kitts & Nevis
St. Vinc. and the Gren.
Suriname
Turks and Caicos Islands

It's a long list, not because i want you to find all these teams, but to give the possibility to decide which kits you also want.

__________

about the national team kits thread: xisco made a fantastic new scotland home.

Thanks for the list, that is a good guideline and I will try to look for them. Friendly FYI also, Uganda and Libya have both been made by Pede (though for FIFS 2005) not too long ago I think. I think those have been updated on the list Liio put together in the 07 forum.

As far as I know, none other teams you mentioned are available on these forums, except in ISP or CEP.....So I will try and look for as many as I can.

well i am very excited to see those isp kits. they could save me a lot of work. but for africa i guess we're doing pioneer work with researching and making kits for mozambique & the others. the cep kits have been a bit... uh... rough, i'd say. similasr to the ea kits for the wc game, the african have been the worst there.

liio, when you wrote "What i did was set it up based on the rankings right after the world cup, cause i think they were the most accurate fifa has ever gotten... I actually used augusts, so italy is a little worse than they might have been" i took more time than one would expect to realize i wasn't meant. :)

Actually, personally I don't mind SOME of the CAF kits from CEP. The kits for Madagascar and Tanzania are not that bad, for example. Of course I will still look for their pics - real kits are always better) but for some if I can't find decent pictures it won't be too bad.

However, I do agree that other CAF kits are quite bad in CEP (Chad, Malawi, Liberia, Kenya, and Congo come to mind)

Apparently FIFA announced the # of qualifiers for 2010 WC. I figured i would share...

Concacaf 3.5
Conmebol 4.5
Afc 4.5
Ofc 0.5
Uefa 13
CAF 4+Host

I dont like it at all... i was hoping for 6 or 7 total spots for africa... take one away from UEFA take the .5 away from CONCACAF or AFC... or for that matter drop OFC to .25 ... they play african 5th, winner plays AFC.

Anyway the real playoffs are

CONCACAF -- CONMEBOL
AFC -- OFC

Sorry Trinidad... Though New Zealand have a shot =-P

Doesn't add up......8 from Western Hemisphere, 5 from Africa, 5 From Asia/Oceania, 13 from Europe equals 31.....one spot is missing. Unless when it says "5 African Countries" in the article, it means 5 NOT including South Africa.

Concacaf really only deserves 3 and Conmebol 5, imo, but that playoff is okay by me, because if Concacaf 4th can beat Conmebal 5th they sure will deserve to go to the WC (translation - i'd be surprised if Conmebol 5th doesn't obliterate Concacaf 4th).

The other playoff gives New Zealand too easy of a path to the WC.....all they have to do is knock of a team like Bahrain or Uzbekistan in a playoff (very possible), as they will steamroll through the OFC qualifiers.

Cheers for posting this, Liio.....I was wondering when it'd be released.

This article makes it more clear. There are 5 African nations that qualify OTHER than South Africa. This is a good thing IMO. So the format is basically the same as last time in terms of overall spots, except one less for Europe and one more for Africa:

http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news;_y...?slug=afp-fblfifarsawc2010&prov=afp&type=lgns

You're right i didn't add it up... was just assuming UEFA got 13 last time around and they did... + Germany...

I think Asia will look very different with Australia grabbing one of those spots... it knocks Saudi Arabia, Iran, Korea and Japan all down one... Add in a team or 2 that happens to have a good run at it and New Zealand's run isn't quite so easy.

I am glad that Saudi Arabia is likely to drop into that playoff spot... They consistantly underachieve at the world cup and deserve to have to playoff for that right.

But i do think for the most part that was uzbekistan and bahrain's last shot at it.

6 african teams?! that's fantastic news. they should have made that for 2002 also, when there were only 2 places other than japan and korea. 13 places for uefa is tough (i hope germany's gonna make it to defend ther 3rd place :) ), but it's worth it.

i thought it was "henceforth" but it's presumptuos to tell an english speaker how he has to spell his own words :)

to be honest, i can't tell about all the cep kits because i had the cep only for a shoret time, the time between the last cep for 06 was released and the crash of my pc after which i had to buy a new one. so i have no access to those kits anymore, if i won't install 06 again, download the cep again and export all kits. but i remember some kits and that "thank you"-note in cep: "and thanks to xy, who made so many kits in such short time".

i also think new zealand will hardly qualify sionce asia has got no additional place after australia entered, and there is also china. and bahrain's a really tough team, too, i've seen them against korea... whoaa

Yes, good points by both of you. I guess using "easy path" wasn't the right phrase. I had forgotten that Australia's move would bump down a better asian team into the playoff. Nevertheless, the number of matches they'd have to play against sides that are even halfway decent in order to qualify would still be far less grueling than say, Chile (18 matches including powerhouses), Finland (Holland, Czech, and Romania in a ridiculously hard group last time), or Egypt (Cameroon and Ivory Coast in group), and all of those teams are far superior to NZ.

However, this may all be a mute point, because based on the latest news wires i've seen, it does not appear that FIFA has decided for sure that it will be a playoff vs 5th place Asian team. That's what they said at first, but then they later implied it could also be a situation where the OFC winner directly enters the final stage of the AFC qualfying, and would then have to play several matches instead of a two-legged playoff.

You know I had never considered that before but hell... That's a good idea... that's a very good idea... It really bites that it would be one less pretty strong AFC team... I would hope they would modify their finals somehow... maybe 10 teams instead of 8 so you get a 9th good asian team and add in New Zealand.

Ok, I think I hit the Carlos*pot on your Caribbean requests. Digicel Caribbean Cup’s website is an absolute goldmine. I’m hyperlinking you straight to the pictures because they are too large to all upload on imageshack. There are so many photos over there. I’ve tried to sort by the nations you’ve requested, but there are also plenty of other teams besides the ones you requested (Bahamas, Bermuda, and Martinique). I will post Haiti pics in addition to what you've listed.

As for the badge, I’ve been unsuccessful at finding it. The top part is clearly the Flag of Suriname, can’t tell what the bottom part is. The association logo on wikipedia and the official site is different. So maybe you can use that or just improvise the badge that’s actually one the kit.

That does it for the Caribbean nations you listed. But, as I mentioned, under the media gallery at www.digicelfootball.com, you will find plenty more pictures and teams. It's pretty much got almost all the Caribbean nations (except the 4 or 5 that did not enter the Caribbean Cup).

Ironically, after all of that, El Salvador (a much larger team than half of these Caribbean teams), proved a very hard find. All I found after about an hour of searching was 3 small pics of their recent friendly against Panama, but they are such bad quality that I'm not going to post for now. You can't even tell the brand or badge from these pics. I'll keep looking.

I also looked a lot for Liberia, without success. I can tell CAF is going to be a fair bit tougher, but i'll do my best.

PS - Any chance of me still getting that Lithuania away kit you made? :)
