Maurinho is a fantastic coach but I like him more because of how he can handle the media with almost no effort. (Taking away the media pressure off his players by putting himself in the spotlight as a "controversial figure" was very clever)
Well ...thats if he did it for that reason
But seriously...he's not far from being best ever in Europe.
But World? If Carlos Bianchi can better Atletico Madrid and win the league this year...........he'll officially be the best of all time.
Check out THESE titles.
Argentine Champs- (with Velez that had a regular team)
Copa Libertadores Champs 94 (beating the unbeatable Sao Pablo of the 90s)
Intercontinental Cup 1994 vs. Milan (with no stars beat Milan 2-0 convincingly)
Then left and came back to the "dead" boca that was struggling to even win Domestic cups.
Won like 3 titles with Boca
Won 2 Copa Libertadores (2000/01)
Won Intercontinental in 2000 after dominating most of the game vs. Real Madrid.
2nd place in Intercontinental 2001 vs. Bayern Munich (in a Boca that just had Riquelme left after many of their stars had left)
then left and Boca went on a bad slump (like right away)
...comes back when Boca had almost nothing and turned the team into a world class one.
Wins the Argentinian championshp by many points.
Wins the Copa Libertadores on his first try.
Wins 2003 Intercontinental by actually playing Milan as an equal. (and Milan were completely superior in terms of players....like by far)
2nd Place in Copa Libertadores (losing to PKs away)
Bianchi is above now that i think about it. Cause he's already in that list (best coaches of all time). He's just 1 CL and La Liga away from being THE best IMO.
