Well, the amount Real offered certainly made it easier for u guys to let Ronaldo go :p. I reckon Fergie's gonna stay a bit longer because of this, as he'll need more time to reconstruct the team due to the loss of Ronaldo. What I'm saying is that as much of wank he is, Ronaldo is a rarity of winger, the amount of goals he scores per-season(as Utd have been relying on him heavily) has to be compensated with other players stepping up, and I believe Fergie will need time to get Utd fully ticking again.

Another thing, why not just buy Tevez with the money cashed in from Ronaldo? Proven premiership quality, fan's favourite, attitude-wise the complete opposite of Cristina, young as well. I'm sure deep down Tevez would like to stay.

Bayern put £90M price on him - I don't want United to blow all the Ronaldo money on one player in anycase, I'd rather we bought in 2 or three young players which we can make into superstars as we did with Ronaldo.

I hear reports in Madrid that Sneijder and Huntelaar may be sold in the inevitable exodus - I would absolutely be overjoyed if they came to United.

Bayern are a vry poor team with even poorer/dum men at the top. There is no way on God's green earth is Ribery worth more than £30M AT MOST!! I agree with you on the young players, rather couple of those than spending any money on that alien.

Read the article, thats too much for him. He doesnt score that many. We already paid 10M for him, so another 25M-30M would be criminal.

To be honest you guys never needed Berbatov. Tevez and Rooney where perfectly happy to create goals for Ronaldo or whoever to have a 20+ goal season. Unfortunately it seems that Fergie did not like the idea of his winger scoring 30+ goals a season while his strikers had 15+. Those two had no problem creating all those goals and then occasionally scoring some.

If thats the reason then Fergie has well and truly lost it as the Winger(Ronaldo) top scored again, with the striker scoring even less than last season.

When this happened: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LvkTkA1Dng

I was like: WOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

That Ronaldo surely was one of your best players. When someday he will play against Manchester, it would be sad if the fans whistle at him...

I suspect there will not be a favourable reaction - it was the way he was being so two-faced about leaving and the petulance on the field. It was a total lack of respect to the club and it's fans.

To be honest I think that if he'd been a man about it and said straight up in the first place "I want to leave for Madrid" instead of this "will he, won't he crap" I personally would have respected him a bit more for being honest. He wasn't and I'm glad the disingenuous git has gone and we got great money for him in the process.

Was he phenomenal on the pitch - yes, but to be a United legend it's about more than that. Ole Solskjaer is the prime example - Cristiano will be largely forgotten in years to come, whereas "20LEGEND" will be saluted for all time.

He's gone, he didn't care about us, why should we for him? I couldn't care less if he sets the world alight at Madrid or not.

I would care more for a less talented player who would give everything for the cause, than a phenomenally talented one who didn't even bother chasing back. I'm sure the majority of United fans would be with me on that too.

Lets move on, Cristiano Ronaldo is no longer a factor with which United should concern ourselves. Lets concentrate on those who take pride in being here - and those that will join them.

And Real paid 80Mil quid for Ronaldo. We live in the age where comical and astronomical fees are put on football superstars, but I'd understand if u guys looked at it from a financial point of view. I mean we wasted 30 Mil on Sheva and he turned out to be a disappointment.
So maybe re-signing Tevez(we already know he's capable in a Utd shirt) could prove to be a masterstroke.

He is the most effective player we've had since George Best. People say we recovered from Becks and Ruud leaving but those guys were not nearly as effective as Cristiano IS(guy does evrything)!!

I see it now,his departure has made it all too clear; Cristiano is better than Messi, he is the BEST!!

Ronaldo's price or even Kaka's had nothing to do with the age, those were both Player of the Years tied down to incredible deals at there respective clubs even if Kaka was abit overpriced. Even Sheva had a ballon d'or, Tevez is nothing like that.

The price for the average player has gone up but not for the superstar, read what Perez said.

You're right and great post (Y)

This last season, his attitude was really sad, i could see that. But, well, when i remember the show and the goals celebrations of 2 seasons behind. It was just great! I know that he cant escape from the whistles and that kind of stuff. He's ambitious, so im not suprised that after all he was transfered to Madrid, but if i was a Manchester United supporter i would be a little disappointed like you, because his attitude was a shame, i agree with that.

I don't give a toss what Perez says since of course he'll be defending his policy of signing world superstars and breaking world transfer records in the process.

The point I'm making is, rather than looking elsewhere, where there is a chance the player you'll be signing will be let down, why not just take the safe method even if its a pricey one. Tevez has always been a thorn to any opposition he plays against, with his work rate and finishing skills. He didn't score much last season because he didn't start that many games to be honest.(correct me if I'm wrong btw about him not starting many games)

But hey, If u guys don't feel the necessity to keep a player of his class, I'm sure clubs like City would be happy to snatch him up. Which in turn, would make the Manchester derby all more interesting next season.

His policy aside, the man is an execellent businessman. In any case United top brass wont sign him unless Tevez's parent company lowers the fee. So I guess city can take him.

according too the papers and rumours were doing just that anyway. Negotiations with tevez, again.

wonder if Larsson fancy's another stint :browsmiley: I think this summer will be filled with rumour due to our coffers being filled. Long summer. Cant wait to see who SAF buys though.

Interesting point. Someone on the Caf mentioned that Fergie might turn his attention to young Danny Welbeck as direct replacement for Ronaldo. There is a big chance that he might be right. He has been fantastic for us when playing on the wings and besides that SAF has told Capello that he would be the surprise addition of his World Cup squad. That surely means that we will see a lot more from this boy next season. SAF has done this before......

Very good article on CR's waning popularity with United,s staff and players:

http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/article359684.ece

Plus Fergie knew Ronaldo wanted to leave TWO YEARS ago:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/8099296.stm

And CR also "doesn't care if the fans hate me" Is this a piece of work or what?

Good news though, Nemanja has re-iterated his desire to stay with United. Unlike some, I think we can trust what he says.

Keep the bacon butties coming Fergie (Y)

United, meanwhile are facing a £2.5m scrap with Sporting Lisbon over Ronaldo's switch to the Bernabeu.

The Portuguese club are set to slap in a claim to United for "development costs" during Ronaldo's time at Sporting. They reckon they are entitled to cash from the sensational £80m which will be heading into the Old Trafford coffers.

A Lisbon source said: "Sporting spent a lot of time and money on Ronaldo during his formative years and they feel they are entitled to some compensation."

We paid them 12.4M for a 17yr old what more do they want? They are always sellin players for bloated prices, Give Dem A Bullet thats wat.

It has allowed me to reflect. Hes an all round player,an allrounder. He has that over Messi and that is alot. Messi is simply a more unpredicatable dribbler, thats all.
