He could start but you are talking on him as if he's god or something. 18 millions is also too much. Why spend 18 million in a position we're covered? That's not our priority. TBH, I think Rafael is not far from him. Just needs more experience and he will become better than Johnson.

LOL, because i said he was better than Rafael and he would start for us??!! Its not even like Rafael is the best RB in the world or anything.

That reasoning alone is enough to close this discussion.wow.

I agree with andremc11 that it'd be nice if we had a really strong RB but we shouldn't be losing any sleep just because Liverpool bought Glen Johnson for 18 million pounds.

I'm also excited about Valencia. I think he can do very well with us :)

Yeah I guess SAF was waiting for Ronaldo to finalize Valencia's move. I hope Nani can step it up next season and regain his form as he showed in his first year. With both of them on either side Rooney, Dimi, Manucho etc will get great crosses, which we had been lacking for a while

This year United needs another 'one man show' like Ronaldo was....but i don't think that Nani is the right player...
Regarding G. Johnson - he is one of the best RB in the world for the moment and he deserves to be in first eleven
See ya!

We dont need no one man shows. We are not a one-man team. Nani doesnt have to become another ronaldo. He jus needs to step up his game..more crosses more assists and some goals. im sure he will come good. Rooney and berba will be banging in the goals.

About glen johnson...yes he was in terrific form last season and was the best RB but i dont understand why we are fearing liverpool jus bcuz they signed him. We still IMO have the better defence. That has been our strength really for the past couple of seasons.

I certainly don't fear Liverpool because they bought Glen Johnson, I'd have liked to have seen him come to us - but I'd rather have Rafael for the longterm.

I'm excited about Valencia coming, He gave us real trouble last season and I reckon he's a rough diamond, and with better players he will step up.

Rooney and Berba up front, ammo from the wings? Just like old style classic United. We're more than a "one man" show and next season we'll play better as a unit.

Just have some faith.

Indeed, but who will score 40goals/per season and 15-20 assists now?
Agree, Man UTD it is not a "one man show team", but they still need a player to come in front!
I only hope that this year Rooney will be properly used and that he will show to all of us the most fulgid goals!

It'll probably be shared around the team. Just like when Ruud left.
We don't need one player who gets 40 goals and 20 assists.

Still no solid news on Valencia, Sky reckon he was going to sign today - and allegedly is in Manchester for his medical. Mind you the transfer window doesn't actually open officially till Wednesday.

The ABU's are making me laugh, they seriously think that losing Ronaldo and Tevez will be the end of us as a major force! I don't think so! Still let them ring into the radio phone ins - they're all biased against United anyway - especially BBC with all their Scousers.

It's us and them. Always has been, always will be. I only care about those who want to wear the United colours - Ronaldo didn't, and Tevez obviously cares more about money. So they're gone, United move on ... we always move on.

Another little point, I believe Anderson operated in the "free role" for Porto - I think they likened him to Ronaldinho at one point. Perhaps he can move out wide for us, Carrick and Fletcher can go in the middle and Nani on the other side? Might be an option, probably won't happen though.

I've seen Anderson play left midfield several times for us and he didn't impress. I prefer him in his natural attacking midfielder position.

who? at least here nobody. all we know they was over.

title drout in two years + 2 key players leaving + coach fired = crisis

can you honestly say you thought we would win the triplete at the begining of last season, how bout after an opening lost to sporting?

I for one will admit I didn't think we were gonna have that good a year, but those players leaving left a void for messi and don andres to shine, txiki said it himself... I feel united with fergie will do the same

As long as Foster can stay injury free we have a good successor to Edwin. The club needs homegrown talent aswell considering the CL rules etc and being a English club
