Toronto FC breaks MLS record with 14, 000 season tickets sold (waiting lists are starting)

Now I dont want to compare this with the leafs (who are 15, 000 plus a grand number of waiting list).....but this is fantastic news for Canadian soccer fans. :D

What shocks me is that there are 14,000 season tickets sold despite the fact that there's been very little advertising about Toronto FC.. Most of the people I know who are sports fans (but not generally soccer fans other than during WC time) didn't even know about Toronto FC until I told them about it. I get a lot of comments like "they're building a new stadium or something down at exibition place right?" or "isn't Toronto getting a soccer team of something?

Amazing..

I know...I know. There's been very little lately about this in the media. Hell Torontofc.ca barely updates anymore. But we have to be patient for real success. The real deal will start when they hit the field and the season gets under way, (cause beside a few random friendlies with college teams, there has barely been anything notable to talk about).

True... anyway, they are going to releasing some 10-match packs for $528 each which include the LA Galaxy match... I might have to opt for one of those.

oh btw i dont know if anybody posted this but this is the new KC Wizards logo

a good change, the rainbow in the old one was terrible

Nice change. This leaves the Columbus Crew in sole possession of the "Gayest MLS Logo" title.

As far as team logos, I've got to admit it's getting better, it's getting better all the time. (Couldn't get no worse.)

I have to agree with you, the badges seem to be getting sorted as the years pass, scrap the team names on the chest and get some sponsors and you have a setting that looks a bit more like a professional soccer organization. The columbus crew have to have one person up top who thinks they may need a new badge as well.. my god.

3 of the 13 teams already have sponsorship deals sorted out for next season (Galaxy, RSL, Toronto). I wonder what the hell all the other teams are doing. These deals bring you lots of dough.

Technically 4, if you count the Red Bulls. However, I'll tell you of one team that won't do anything, let alone a sponsorship deal. We're so f*cking bush league, no wonder people would rater drink paint thinner than watch us play at that toilet in Foxboro.

Well apparently the stadium deal that you guys wanted to go through with fell through with the Boston city council. I saw an article on big soccer about it the other day.

official: Montreal building 13,000-15,000 soccer stadium for USL and future MLS bid (which Saputo promised would happen eventually <i can see them in league in next 5 years>)

Good news for Canadian football keeps on coming.

I still think Montreal deserved a team before Toronto.. oh well, I'm not complaining though. (although I'd support Montreal if they were the only Canadian team in MLS)

seeming as it is only 17 odd days before MLS kick off... when will LA reveal their new look kits? I hope they stay with green and gold... very unique.

They won't. I read that they will be changing to colors that represent a real galaxy, so expect some dark navy blue to be in there (very creative...) with some gold probably.

Now Kraft says after the Patriot Place Mall is finished being built next year, if the city of Foxbourgh donates the land he will reconsider builing a soccer specific stadium.

Oh yeah fun fun looking for parking spaces at Gillet Stadium this year half the main parking lots are dug up.
