Dunno if you guys have seen this, but a bit of Rockets comic relief

They try to imitate Dikembe Mutombo, Battier sounds like the cookie monster...

Hahaha that's awesome! (H)

F*cking needed that after watching (insert insult here) TJ Ford.

PS: for those who don't know the story, this is what happened:

Score tied 65-65 after 3 quarters. Mitchell sits Calderon, puts Ford in cus he's Mitchell's little gay lover. Ford comes in, misses shot in first offensive possession, TO in 2nd possession, gets eaten up by Utah's backup PG on defence, misses shot on 4th possession, turnover on 5th possession, meaningless foul on defence, bitches at ref, elbows on offence for another TO on 7th possession, starts swearing, 1 tech, starts going out of control and had to be held back by 'Pono, 2 techs, out. Raptors down 69-87, after 6 minutes of play in the 4th quarter.

Alex, TJ for Bernie Bickerstaff, right now.

It's the smart-man's way. (H)

I left out the Matt Harpring discussion though, for your privacy and street cred purposes.

The Nets played extremely crappy defense. First game in a long time where Vince actually took control over the damn game, and made some good plays for other team mates too.

The Nets have never been a defensive team. The type of players Brooklyn has cannot defend.

Yes i said Brooklyn (H)

I would guess you weren't alive when the Nets made it to back to back finals appearances? One of their qualities was being a good defensive team which allowed them to get on the break more. Even the 05-06 team was pretty solid defensively, but we have slipped these past few years I have to admit. Oh and how are the defensive powerhouse known as the New York Knickerbockers doing?

Well he had to start talking about something else at some point right?

By the way there is one and only one MVP choice that makes sense this season and that is LeBron James. Just look at the Cavs while he was out injured.

doubt it. They count overall team performance and regseason record too much to give it to lebron. Kobe needs to win this imo.

Kobe? This isn't even his best season, not by a long shot. It's gonna be hilarious when KG wins it again even though he's having the worst statistical year in like the past ten seasons.

agreed. mvp winner should be having a phenomenal statistical season as well as other accolades. KG has too much talent around him + the fact the east is weak. to his defense, they've played phenomenaly against the west, even winning in convincing fashion vs the west triangle of doom, but Boston held its own when he was out. Kobe would be hands down MVP if it wasn't for LeBron. He has nothing on that team. Nothing. Sczerbiak... that was supposed to get them over the top? put Kobe on that team, they go nowhere. Lebron is criticized for being too passive - he has to be. kobe has other players on that team (odom, radmanovic, now gasol) who can somewhat create shots for themselves and take pressure off of Kobe, who is a phenomenal offensive player. LeBron can only hope that he's double teamed instead of triple teamed. it's ridicilously close at this point. If Kobe ends up averaging 40 pts, 8 rbs and 6-7 assists for rest of season while leading the lakers to the top of the ultra competitive west, i think he wins it. But at this point, with Lebrons stats, his team's accomplishments due solely to him, and the fact that Kobe is a whining little bitch, gotta give it to Lebron. BTW, does Kobe remind anybody else of the guy you play pickup ball in the gym who bitches if he doesn't get the ball every possesion? might be just me.

Then kobe should have won 2 MVP awards last season. IMO he was even better than MJ ever was. (with the small diff that MJ always had a good team to support him, and the 2nd best player in the league(and imo again, if it werent for mj he would have gotten much more credit nowdays than he actually does))

I totaly agree with all comments about KG btw. I have to add one small thing tho. I believe the Celtics went into a conservation mode little b4 or after that 30-3 point in the season. At least their 2 stars (if not.. ray as well.. so that makes it all 3 of em.._) were playing only 70-80%. At least thats the idea I got after watching boston games (and ive seen A LOT of em this year)

lol, yeah, somehow :p
But.. and i can only guess about that, when you've been a major superstar since your 18-19 (11 years now already) and you're still on the very top of your game after so many years, isn't it a bit.. natural to want to be the center of your basketball universe, egoistic and demanding from everyone around you to step up and be on the same page as you performance wise?
Having said that, I dont really like kobe, :P but I do believe this guy HAS to win at least one MVP award. At least one. And I'm a major LeBron fan right now as this guy is showiing extreme professionalism and commitment, and the way he has really stepped up every single aspect of his game... I mean... just wow. And to believe i almost hated him when he first came to the league as I was thinking like... "woah, another super body, no talent player, great. Just great" :P

Do i babble ? :(

nah, actually very good points. I know that it's almost impossible to believe that Kobe has not won at least one MVP, but i guess that's where the intangibles come in. Personally, and this is purely personal, I just cannot award a player as a most valuable player if it means awarding the player whose team is playing better. The lakers would muddle through without Kobe. Yes, the West is murder, no doubt about it, but if Lakers are healthy (bunym, gasol) this is still a very good team.

on the other hand, the cavs without lebron are just a glorified pickup team at the gym. if MVP was simply awarding best player, you are correct, Kobe should have multiple MVPs. Hes phenomenal offensively, and unknowingly to a lot of people, pretty effin good defensively. But this is a guy who has throughout his career called out teammates, whined and bitched if something has not gone his way, and sabotaged his own teams (read - taking 2 shots in second half of one game to voice his displeasure)

Basketball is a team game. Kobe Bryant wouldn't know what a team was if he raped one. Allegedly. Love him game. LOVE IT. He's the guy you know you have to guard, but can't. At the same time, LeBron has been touted as the next MJ since he was a sophomore in high school. I would say he has a fair amount to gripe about too. But he doesn't. He has voiced his displeasure, but in a cordial and professional way. Kobe has thrown his teammates and staff under the bus multiple times. I don't have a personal vendetta against him. Like I said, love his game. But hate his attitute. I remember watching the game vs utah the other night, and the lakers are hitting everything. I mean everything. They're up something like 20, kobe has taken 9 shots already, and it's a two on one fast break with him and farmar. farmar is wide open, pulls up, and hits. kobe slams his arms against his body in frustration.

i don't know. Might be just me. Oh, and just kind of, on the side, I don't think KG should be MVP, his stats are down and team is better. but i still don't think anybody plays with as much intensity than him. ai and kobe are a close second.

I think that the Warriors are my favorite team in the league. They're just so dynamic and awesome to watch that they've singlehandedly renewed my love for the NBA, man. I go out of my way to check out their games now, man.

Anyway. It would be a travesty if they didn't get into the playoffs this year. I realize that their defence is abhorrent and entirely nonexistent, but that's Nellie ball for yah, man. I really want them and the Nuggets to get in ahead of the Mavericks.

what a ******* leader and warrior, man. I've been a fan of his since the Spurs days....the dude's just a total badass!

It really depresses me that the Sonics are officially moving out of their home of more than four decades to like the 50th market in the States. I mean, wtf, man? It makes no sense whatsoever economically since Seattle is one of the most prosperous cities in the nation and Oklahoma is a total ****hole that no freeagent is ever gonna be attracted to. I don't care if the KeyArena is a piece of dump, you just can't obliterate 40yrs worth of history from such loyal fans, man.

I used to be a huge Supersonics fan back in the mid 90s in the Schrempf, Kem, Payton, Gill, Perkins and McMillan era, man. It's gonna be a bitter pill to swallow when I see the Oklahoma Cowboys or whatever next season, man.
