Kobe can not be mentioned in the same phrase as M.J. yet.

He is 25 and might have his fourth ring. Michael Jordan didn't win till he was 28.

A terrible game played by the Lakers. First half was gross. Looked more like church league basketball.

You can't go down on the Pistons by too much because they play so scrappy that it is near impossible to come back.

This is the kind of game you just want to forget about.

I hope Karl is healthy.

how bout big ben? he held shaq under 25 points (14). shaq scored over 20 in ALL his playoff games. takes a lot to controll that behemoth like that... and kobe looked really really lost. i think fatigue might be catching up with him.

Its pretty sad that Payton and Malone(especially) don't win ring...they had a great career but pretty ruined cause of ring...

This is insane, the team with the best player ALWAYS wins the NBA Finals; if Detroit wins they not only won't have the best player, but they won't have one of the two best players. I mean, trace this back, it's always true. You have Duncan, Shaq 3 times, Duncan, Jordan 3 times, Hakeem twice, Jordan 3 times, Isaiah, Magic (lost), Magic twice, Bird, Magic, Bird, Magic (lost), Magic, Bird, and Magic. Bird and Magic were pretty equal, so when the lakers and celtics squared off, it really was a toss up for best player in the series. But only the 88-89 Pistons (who had a team of all-stars....Laimbeer, Rodman, Thomas, Dumars, etc.) and the 82-83 76ers (who had Moses Malone and Dr. J) won the series without having the best player in the series. The Pistons would truly be accomplishing something great if they pulled this off.

its a little something called good defense. they are the best defensive team in the NBA, and they were overlooked all season by analysts, because they were focused on the teams with big stars and high octane offenses (LA, Kings, Wolves, Indiana). i find it very suprising that many people are suprised that the lakers are down 2-1. it was very easy to see that the pistons were a better team since the opening minutes of game 1 untill now. the lakers have been outcoached and outplayed, and should consider themselves lucky to be even where they are. also, payton is playing like ****. but chalk that up to good D.

Damn, I didn't watch the game, just the highlights.
ThaT 3-pointer by Kobe in game 2 still hurts me, the Pistons would have been 3-0 at this point if it wasn't for Kobe
