I would say anyone who would rather pay $1200 or more for a decent graphics card, ram, monitor and joystick than getting a next-gen console is just insane, (that is the next-gen consoles are optimized to their full capability, meaning that the game developed will run at its full capacity if the developer chooses to do so).

With a damn PC all you have is a game that will have to run in some average graphics card with minimum of 256 MB devoted solely to games, and the developers have no way of maximizing the game to its full capability on the PC...

You might as well just buy a new next-gen console... They've come to stay, especially PES3, which will blow XBOX360 out of the water

And about the question will next-gen consoles stay... Yes.. they will. Their generation will last for about five years... like every generation of consoles by far.

Actualy No I won`t. As a matter of fact I won`t be buying XBOX 360 anyways. I`m not a Microsoft fan at all.. but in reality I would buy the most powerful console that there is but even you know XBOX won`t match PS3 strenght.

Unfortunately only you and a handful of others who spend that much money to get a kick ass PC will be able to see Beckham's hairy knee. And don't you think developers know that you're the only few who have the latest equipment to enjoy game performance, therefore they'll always do a half ass version for PC to accomodate all sorts of different graphics cards, monitor resolutions, etc...

That's marketing, and because of that, all your investment isn't worth sh...t

A gpu alone aint gonna do much ****. To match the next gen console technology your pc will need to be equipped with a multi-core processor. Oh sorry, you ain't got one. And it'll be a while until they become common and affordable.

The truth is, this time, it ain't just about PC's getting more RAM and faster cpu's. It'll take you a while to catch up to this "weak" playstation 3. And a lot of cash.

In some screenies foreground is in focus while the crowd/players ect in the background are blurred out.. all the signs of a render to me.

No doubt it will look amazing but until i see first-hand in game footage for myself i'll reserve judgement.

Obviously, PC hardware will eventually start to become 'next-gen console' comparable, but seriously...if you wanted EA to re-create NBA 2K6 or FIFA RTWC 06 xbox 360 for your computer, I'd save up a lot of money, wait until EA can even CREATE it on a computer and then UPGRADE your PC with that £300 hardware you've just bought...that of which isn't out yet. Just because a console might have a lower spec then a PC, doesn't make a blind bit of difference then say two computers where one is more powerful than the other. Consoles are much, much different and easier to create games on.


Doom 3 was created on the PC, then ported to Xbox. If you want FIFA RTWC 06 on the PC, from the 360, go upgrade your computer first...

I don't care about graphics, my first game was Leisure Suit Larry 1 on XT computer with Hercules graphics board (a thrilling 2 colours), so todays games already blow away all the expectations I had in that domain.

I guess I see consoles as child toys only made for gaming while PC's are so much more, I'd like to see people doing their accounting on an X-Box

All the fancy graphics of the consoles can't beat a PC when it comes to editing or patching and believe me, PC hardware will catch up quickly and be affordable, especialy since Intel vs AMD and Nvidia vs Ati are breaking prices and releasing more powerful cards and CPU's every five to six months.
