What can you guys tell me about Heitinga? I know he's young and plays on defense(CB or RB?. What else? Thanks

He's a central defender. The best comparison that I can think of is Danny Blind. He builds up the play from the back and has a great pass. He can also play the holding midfielder role (see game away vs. Auxerre). During EURO 2004, he played right back in which he did great in my opinion.

yeah and he is a defender who can be seen in front of the goal as well cause he likes to proceed to the front a lot, has a good pass but is also a good header from setpieces. He showed that yesterday against Willem II which we won btw with 2-0. Our first victory since Danny is the new coach, goals from Mitea and Babel of course! But the revelation of the evening was Hedwiges Maduro, boy another great talent has stood up and Marco v Basten knew all along ;) He was awesome, I was at the stadium last night and when Maduro was on the ball you could see the greatest moves and passes, this guy is going to be very good as well in the future and he is only 18 years old!!

This sunday we play vs AZ, going to be hard but at least we play a homegame, AZ beat Villareal yesterday with 1-2 in Spain and they are really playing ou of their skins at the moment, i hope we will give them hell and play like we did the first half yesterday against Willem II. :read:
We had like 5 or 6 chances but only made 2, need to practise on more scoring!! :chew:

Bogarde played for SDZ before moving to Ajax, the club where I used to play soccer. Strangely enough though I'm not that proud of it...

Anyway Willem II victory was a good one IMO. Lots of chances only thing is the finishing which is why I think we won't stand a chance against AZ.

Let's all wave to the looooooooooooooosers in Rotterdam Ajaxfans :ewan: :ewan: :ewan: cause again we WON!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSS 2-3 goals from de Jong, Grygera and Maduro scored the winning goal.
The Fey**** defense SUCKED big time and Ajax was dominant through the whole game, we outplayed them again as usual hahahahahaha :lui:
Fey****d played without initiative and they really were bad in defense as I said and we punished them for that.
Very important win cause AZ played 1-1 vs NAC and now we're in 2nd place and passed AZ on the rankinglist.
One black line though to this game vs F***d cause there were no Ajaxfans there. Empty stands because the fans were sent back after destroying some trains who took them to Rotterdam :( :boohoo:

BUT WHAT A DAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY FOR AJAX AND DANNY BLIND!!!!!

Mitea played a good game, he is getting back into form again for as far as I can see, he scored last week with a header against Willem II and he gave a fantastic assist for Pienaar against AZ. Against Feyenoord he was a plague for the F defense, he was fast and he defended as well when it was needed.
He's first choice for Danny Blind on the leftside flank that's for sure..

Great great news lads. Trabelsi is negotiating about a renewed contract which will keep him at the club for a longer time.

Let's hope he'll stay.

Yep great news indeed I just read it.
Danny Blind told him that he wants to keep him for the team (duuuuuuuh)
and Trabelsi said that it's well possible that he stays.
We keep our fingers crossed cause this would be a great for Ajax, he is so important on that rightflank.

Well.......bad news and good news I guess
Bad is that we lost the semi-final for the Dutch Amstelcup against Willem II.
Ajax was much stronger and had many chances but they all missed them. For open goal on the crossbar, Charisteas was very close with his header but it was turned on the line, same goes for Pienaar (turned again). Babel was close, de Jong was very close but that's all! They just couldn't score where Willem II only scored one goal due to bad defending from Ajax I might add :nape: and Mitea missed the goal for OPEN GOAL WTFFF, hit the crossbar unbelievable :kader: what a bad luck, the goalkeeper was already beaten.
More bad news and even worse is that Maxwell has badly injured his knee, predictions are that he can't play for months!! He jumped and landed wrong on the pitch, Pienaar was also limping a lot during the interval but played untill the end.
More bad news is that Trabelsi refused the offer from Ajax and Arsenal and Newcastle are determined to convince him to play in the Premier League but with Arsenal he has to compete with Lauren and Trabelsi wants to play all the time.

Then a bit of good news I guess:

Ajax are looking to persuade Dennis Bergkamp to extend his career, should the Dutch master fail to secure a new deal at Arsenal.
Bergkamp is in the twilight of his career and has yet to secure a fresh contract with Arsenal - which would make him a free agent in the summer should no agreement be found.
Amsterdam titans Ajax have been monitoring the situation with interest for a number of weeks and are ready to step in with a one-year contract for their former star.
Ajax chief Danny Blind spent six seasons in the same team as Bergkamp in Amsterdam and is fully aware of the forward's supreme talents.
Blind feels his young Ajax side would derive great benefit from working alongside a player of Bergkamp's calibre and stature in the game and is ready to pull out all the stops to bring the 35-year-old back to Amsterdam.
Bergkamp has previously stated that he would retire at the end of the season if he failed to thrash out fresh terms and his agent has reaffirmed this stance.
"If Dennis does not receive another contract from Arsenal, he will retire immediately," said the player's agent Rob Jansen.
However, reports are suggesting Bergkamp is attracted to the possibility of working with Blind and aiding the club where he forged his name and will consider any offer closely should Arsenal end the contract with him.

Now that would be fantastic, indeed he is a great player but his experience is very important as well for the young players. I say bring him back and appoint Dennis to captain.

A bit more good news is that Charisteas is back from injury and when he came on the pitch yesterday he was dangerous immediately and Galasek will be back anytime now.

Ajax is now in 2nd place due to the loss from AZ against Utrecht, let's hope we can hold this position but without Maxwell...... :(

Somehow I think that Maxwell played his last match for Ajax yesterday, what a way to go :nape:

Thanx for everything Maxwell, you are a legend in my book!

Feck what a **** day yesterday was. Out for the only price we can get this season and Maxwell out for 8 months

:kader:

But I don't think it was his last match. Think: he won't surtainly be buyed this summer because he in no way would pass the medical test and after he comes back from injury he needs to proove that he's the same Maxwell as the one before the injury.

Yeah that crossed my mind too and I'm sure he wants to recover in peace and it will be in Amsterdam is what I believe.
I think he will be out for the rest of the year which means that he can play not sooner than 2006. But don't forget that Ajax can receive a large amount of money for him this summer and next summer he could go for free, I'm not sure Ajax will allow that to happen. On the other hand, Blind clearly stated that he wants Maxwell to remain with Ajax so we'll see how this develops.
Btw these are the new kits for next season, the homekit looks like a copy from last season with the red band stopping at the shoulders :( I rather like it to be like in this season, the genuine Ajax style!
But the awaykit looks good to me, darkblue, white and red.

Maxwell CANNOT go anywhere wheter that is FC Lutjebroek or Real Madrid he won't pass the medical test by any chance. Do you really think a club is that stupid to buy a player that will not play for most of the season?
Problem is that Maxwell will supposly leave in summer 2006 for nothing.

Silencer

Superstar
I guess you are right, he can't pass any medical now and I don't believe a club is that stupid to buy him now, they will probably wait to see if Maxwell is still the same player after this injury since this is his first real big injury for him.
