PLAYERS LEAVING/STAYING

  • Hans Vonk: His one year contract is up, will likely retire as he is 35. (RETIREMENT)
  • Bogdan Lobont: Has gotten very little play (7 games) but no club has shown public interest in him. He's also injury-prone. Has a contract until summer 2008. (STAYING)
  • 'Filipe' Luis Kasmirski: Came to Ajax on a one-year lone deal and played mostly for the reserves. Played for 45 minutes in the Barca-friendly. Recently broke his upper-arm. (UNKNOWN)
  • Maxwell: Has a contract until summer 2006 and will likely leave to the Serie A or Chelsea. (LEAVING)
  • John O'Brien: Ajax terminated contract and moved to Den Haag on a free transfer. (LEFT)
  • Hatem Trabelsi: Ajax extended his contract until the summer of 2006 but will probably leave for England. Arsenal and Newcastle are interested. (LEAVING)
  • Rasmus Lindgren: Has been impressive in his few appearances in the first team. Has said he wanted to be included in the first squad. He'll most likelys stay. (STAYING)
  • Tomás Galásek: His contract ends this summer but will likely get an extention for at least another year if he recovers from his back-injury. Don't see him retiring yet.(STAYING)
  • Steven Pienaar: PSV has shown interest and he's said to be disappointed with his current role. Might leave if we catch enough money for him. Contract ends 2006. I don't see him leaving just yet. (STAYING)
  • Rafael van der Vaart: His contract ends in the summer of 2006 so the Ajax board might be trying to catch some cash before he leaves on a Bosman. Only serious clubs interested seem to be Spurs and Liverpool. But his form has been piss-poor and I don't see any club wanting him. (STAYING)
  • Yannis Anastasiou: His contract ends this summer but may get another extension for a year. He'll be third-option striker but Ajax wants to keep him for his seniority and leadership. (STAYING)
  • Nourdin Boukhari: Has a contract until the summer of 2006. Will stay as the only other left-winger is Mitea. (STAYING)
  • Nicolae Mitea: Contract is ending this summer but Ajax has a one-sided option to extend it for another two years. Is currently out of favor but I don't see him leaving yet. (STAYING)

"The Gazetta Dello Sport has mentioned that Ajax and Inter are trying to make deal to trade Maxwell for Davids and/or van der Meyde."

I certainly wouldn't want a trade that involves van der Meyde since we already have 2 great wingers. Davids for Maxwell? It would be good if we lost Raffie but I wanna see some straigh t cash for my boy Maxwell.

Gossip and BS, Ajax can get a lot of money for Maxwell this summer, they sure as hell won't trade him for Davids let alone v.d. Meyde. Davids is a great player and surely i would love to see him back with Ajax someday but right now we have Galasek in midfield and he's doing a great job when he plays.
And It's more likely that Maxwell will go for Juve or Chelsea then for Inter.

The KNVB says that the game Ajax - AZ which was cancelled last weekend will be played on the 17th of March. I surely hope they are joking cause on the 20 March we face PSV in de ArenA

Other news: Danny Blind started talks with Ajax for the Coach position, Ajax also had a meeting with Martin Jol last week and he says 'no comment at the moment'.
Blind says the same but today will be a 2nd meeting between him and the board and I'm beginning to get the feeling that Danny Blind will be our next coach at the end of the week.
Yesterday Johan Derksen said the same on Voetbal Insite, a Dutch program about football and he is usually right about these things.

To be continued I guess..

From de Parool:

Good to hear, all we need know is a club that wants him.

He should've left a season ago
he gave the team nothing but crap all season, except for his brilliant action against Auxerre

Well it's official: DANNY BLIND will be the headcoach starting on wednesday and sunday we play against PSV wow he got his work cut out for him that's for sure.
Personally I think it's a good decision but I am a bit carefull with crying hosannah if you know what I mean. Ajax is having a crappy season and I sure hope that Blind can turn things around!

Good luck Danny we are counting on you as we did when he was the captain :D
I don't think we will win it against PSV but you never know cause PSV have to play a game against Groningen on thursday and Ajax can work up to the game on sunday..
Miracles can happen at least that's what they say but seeing PSV in their current form it's going to be very very hard to beat them.

Rafael is really stupid. He says he's going to leave but to where. Which club would want an ever bitching out-form wannabee big player in it's squad?

Rafael told on the website today that all the rumours of him leaving are just rumours and not more than that, it's BS as far as he's concerned and he's looking forward to make this season work and hopefully play in the CL next season.

And stop flaming him for Christ sake!
This guy did everything for Ajax in all the years that he played and he did some fantastic things for the club. He's out of form true but he has a lot of potential and Ajax should try to hang on to him.
He is still young and has many years in front of him..

BTW the assistent coach with Blind is not van den Brom but Krol, van der Lem and Fred Grim as Keeperstrainer.
van der Lem was the assistent coach with van Gaal for many years and he has a good look on the game but.......so does Danny!

Cruyff is well pleased with Blind so I just heard on the news!

I was a fan of him once but now... He's out of form for 2 years now for christ' sake.

Where's that big talent?

I think he'll ever stay a 'talent' and will never be the big guy he promised us to be.

his first two seasons were amazing, but his last two seasons have been really disappointing. He has to make way for the new talents (Maduro & Lindgren) and leave end of the season. Hopefully we can make some money out of it

Maybe and maybe not, Rafael told the media today that things change now that Blind is the new coach. New coach new chances he said well that maybe true but it's about time he started to show us smth like the brilliant action against Auxerre for instance.
I think Blind will give him a spot in the starting 11 on sunday.

Blind wouldn't be my choice... BUT now that he is Ajax' new head coach we need to support him. There will be people that are gonna start to complain at the end of this season saying that Blind is a failure and not good enough for Ajax. But he cannot turn around Ajax so easily. Give the man some time, he's got solid veterans behind him (Bruin-Slot, Krol, van der Lem, Grim). Let's not jump to conclusions. That's all I have to say.

Oh, and if we play the way we did against NEC on Sunday.... we'll get destroyed by PSV. Let's just hope for a Blind-effect (Y)

More speculation about van der Vaart going to PSV on vi.nl today and they say that van der Vaart would like to go to PSV.
On Ajax.nl Rafael says this and I quote:
"De verhalen dat ik weg zou willen bij Ajax zijn echt onzin. Natuurlijk droom je als jonge speler wel van het buitenland. Dat doet elke speler die in Nederland speelt. Maar ik ga in een moeilijke periode echt niet mijn hoofd laten hangen of de handdoek gooien. Ik moet op de training gewoon laten zien, dat de trainers niet om me heen kunnen. Verder werk ik keihard. De rest komt vanzelf weer. Daar ben ik van overtuigd."

Translation

The stories about me leaving Ajax are rubbish. Sure as a young player you dream of an adventure abroad, every Dutch player does. But I'm not going to throw the towel or let my head hang in these difficult times. I have to show the coaches that they can't go around me at the training. Furthermore I'm working real hard and the rest will follow, i'm convinced that it will.

If he does go to PSV he'll get half the nation against him.

I just hope he meant what he said at Ajax.nl. I'm willing to give him one more chance but if doesn't get his form back in say one year you can say his talent has been wasted.
