Aussies ended up making 279.

Bevan made 70 odd and Ponting 63.

Zimbabwe 2/63 after 18 overs going way too slow so the aussie have won this one. lee and Williams have a wicket each.

Zimbabwe are improving with every game but they are just lacking the top order fire power required. Opening with Taibu was unsuccessful as his slow start was very costly. Ponting gave them a sniff of victory when he kept Clarke and Symonds bowling longer than he had to. They had already covered the fifth bowlers 10 overs but he kept them going even though Clarke was going for 8 an over.

I've never been a Martyn fan so I always want to see him go, but, the selectors seem content on sticking with him so I wish he would start moving his feet like he used to because his form is affecting the top order at the moment. He has always been a chance around the point and gully positions but with the way his feet aren't moving at the moment everything he hits through that area is in the air. Hopefully he comes good for the teams sake, especially if he goes to Sri Lanka where he will be cannon fodder against the spinners if his feet aren't moving properly.

This is a good series this year, Zimbabwe are coming good and India are giving us a good run for our money. With Tendulkar and Sehwag back I think India are going to be hard to beat.

Martyn is ******* up the australian team he is putting too much pressure on Symonds and Clarke to perform. Australia are always gunna go out in the first 15 overs and he should be the one that anchors the innings knocking the ball around making sure that we can save Symonds and co for the last 20 overs to come out an smack the ball

Martyn made 42 off just 40 balls before he was out LBW just before they went off for rain. He batted well. The aussies are going pretty good though:

Australia ended up making 9/263 in there 50 overs but it has been raining since the innings break. Not looking good. Word is that 9:00 PM is going to be the latest they will go for a restart which is in 50 minutes.

As for those Martyn baggers...Consider that in the series in India before the current series, Martyn scored a great century, plus remember what he did in the World Cup...

AND his 42 off 40 was a good knock...Much better than Bevans 73 off 98, esp. since when he came in the team was scoring at 7+ an over :rolleyes:...

Bevans strike rate over the past two years is somewhere around 55-60...A one day batsmen cant strike that low, he needs to go, im do my shoes in a bow, the river can flow, i think its gonna blow, the lawn needs a mow, i spent all my doe, weve got a young keeper called Coe, Im sick of this so....Ill stop :p

It was a good innings that someone needed to play though because at 5/155 we were not looking that good. Lets see how Hussey goes. Ponting is going to be rested. Gilchrist Captain and Katich comes in. Batting Lineup isn't that strong.

I think its going to be another close match but our batting has to improve. Ponting is out of this one and we cant just have little collapses. Im going to pick Australia because I always do.

i gotta say...that was a helluva run chase

gilly and symonds smashed them all over the park, runs galore, symonds' sixes were brilliant.

anyhoo 5 wicket win with over 100 balls to spare, thatll scare them before next friday :)

It was good to see the WACA back to it's bouncy best. The last few internationals over there the pitch hasn't been as hard as we're used to. I think it's a great pitch when it bounces because it gives both the batsman and bowlers some encouragement.

Lee bowled very well and fast on a pitch that really suited him, Symonds and Gilchrist showed what a good even batting pitch it was by destroying the Indian bowling.

This is the sort of track we should have been playing India on all summer. I bet when we go over there we dont play on pitches that dont turn so why not make the pitches over here more to our advantage when we play a side from the subcontinent. I think that the groundsman are more interested in creating a safe pitch that will assure the test goes for the full 5 days so it makes them look better.
It was like we had no home advantage this summer with batsman friendly and turning pitches delivered and India also have had a very good and vocal group of supporters following them and I think this has been a major confidence boost to their side, and they certainly took advantage of it.

I'm going to the second final this weekend and i hope that both sides continue plaing as well as they are.

The main reason why we won is because of the bounce. India wouldn't be used to bounce as the wickets in Australia haven't been bouncy and of course in India the ball doesn't bounce.

Dont think this is any indication on who is going to win the finals though.
