Gentlemen (and few ladies), let's start submitting all the stuff we know about Fifa2003 into this thread so that there won't be bits and pieces all over the place(there are over 45 pages for fifa2003 forum).

Let me submit the first piece that I think might be of some value...

1) Obviously it is impossible to do header when you are alone (most often this is at your defense area)What I am able to do 80% of the time...rather than chesting the ball, I press th e X button repeatedly and volley-pass it to another defender,or I repeatedly press SQUARE and lob it to a defender. This can be of great value when there is an attacker coming within a few metres of you and if you chested it,he would take it off your feet(no doubt happened to all of us thousands of times)

Also...to prevent your goalkeeper from charging out during the oppositions corner attempt, don't hold the triangle too long....just tap that repeatedly as well....I havn't had a situation where my keeper came out since I started doin that....

I've noticed different types of soccer balls on PS2 screenshots. The only ones I've played with was the EA sports ball and the Nike ball. Has anyone played with the Fevernova ball on any other type? Thanks.

That was the ball that came up when i played a Friendly International Mode and the International Cup mode. When i play Club mode it comes up as the Nike ball.

Do you remember which teams you used in international friendly that brought up the ball,if it occurs like you say....it will be posible to find the Fevernova somewhere.........

first of all. i got this game the minute it came out. had to wait in the sotre for the guy to open the box. when i started it, it was awesome! intro was sweet, graphics were sweet also. but as i started going thourgh the menus, there is a lag loading could be shorter. I start playing the game, and what the hell us up with the new controls? the freestyle thing realy doenst do much at times. I also HATE the fact there is no CURL!!! This is the most crucial part of the game. Its too easy to steal the ball and also make a goal. Thorough passin gis easy, and i havent managed any voley shots yet. Please send in more input, maybe a way to CURL the ball!!! Thanks guys

Sprint pass the defender??

I always play with Liverpool, my favorite team and Owen would sprint pass any defender without any problem in real life but not in PS2 Fifa2003!! What is wrong? The defenders somehow manage to catch up with you whenever you try to sprint!!

I was Turkey and Brazil in one game and Turkey and Greece in another. I also played a few International Cup matches as Turkey. Everytime i played it was the 2nd ball of the pics i posted that came up. No Fevernova ball has come up yet.

if defender nearly going to catch u do a trick it leave him behind, thi works in pc version

To get away from the defending player during a run....

-Exactly what Diouf said, as soon as it looks as if the defender is going to catch up with you......pull of a freestyle stick move.....60-70% of the time you will leave him in the dust......

-also while using the speed burst,hold your freestyle stck in the direction you are running,the player will keep pushing the ball ahead of him and will be able to use his max. speed.

-Sometimes when a player is about to catch me, I let go of the controls so that the player stops.Once he is stopped,I flick the freestyle stick in the direction I want him to go and he taps it about five yards in that direction and burst for it,leaving the defender standing scratching his head or he does a slide tackle and fouls you...SWEET!!!!:rockman:

also another tip when you have the ball about 20-30 yards from goal if you tap the shoot button it will sometimes do a really good through ball to a striker infront of you, this fools the defenders sometimes and is quite cool

also wat is up wiv u lot complaining about heading on yor own i do it with ease everytime??? whats going on?

Yeah, this happens in the PC version also, when u are still and u move the right analog it taps it in that direction. However, when u use the freestyle when encountering a defender on the PS2, does the player with the ball does a special dribble/move 100% of the time? On the PC, it seems like 50/50, sometimes he does a dribble, and sometimes he doesn't do a move and the defender gets the ball. Does this happen on the PS2 version?

If the player is standing compltely still ,he will knock it ahead 100% of the time when you flick the right analog stick.

I fhe is still just slowing down and you flick it...he does a move or justa regular short knock ahead

It is true that if you have the assistant enabled,your defense mark better......especially helpful in the pro mode/when you use formations with 5 backs

Just something I've noticed, When you go to the controller configuration screen, there are actually 2 buttons that can make the goalkeeper charge!!!!!!!!Is this an erorr???:crazyboy:
