On the World Class difficulty level don't bother using the speed burst once you cross the half way line, the opposing defenders will just tackle you regardless of how crap they are in real life. Instead just go at a jogging, running pace and try one touch passing - you can unlock the tightest defence with patience and it doesn't matter too much which team you have. Try a 4-4-2, and then once you get the ball around the opposing team's box then try passes that are more or less parallel to the goal line between your strikers and maybe an attacking midfielder. This will make the defenders move out of position and after a few passes you can set one of your strikers up for a one time shot.
Also, don't forget, when you're in the midfield and don't know what to do - stand still. The CPU will give you 5-6 seconds before it charges in, provided you have a bit of space around you.
Also, if you're using a crap team, I'm playing with West Brom, try to replace your centre midfielders and a striker a few minutes after into the second half. If you wait too long you may not get a chance to sub (or you'll have to manually kick the ball out of play just to make a change which means u lose possesion.)
Finally, and I love this feature, always look for the QUICK THROW IN when you're attacking - as soon as the throw in view comes up launch it to the penalty box and you can often catch a defender sleeping - it's really cool.

If you wana unlcok the unbeatable challange tourniment. Win the world tour! WARNING! Not for the faint hearted. It takes roughly 77 mathces to win the world tour, and thats not loosing a match! I think the number of matches you win in the unbeatable challangemight unlock stuff. But dont quote me on that.

EA freestyle control
I managed to pull off a 360 degree spin twice with the PS2 right analog control pass the defenders and the next thing you know is "GOAL!". But when I tried to do it again, no matter how I twist and turn the right stick, it just does not work anymore. Is there anybody out there knows exactly what move can be done with the right analog stick and how can we do it? Anyone willing to share their tested and proven method on the move will be very much appreciated!

I have done the 360 spin on countless occasions with Veron/Zidane..and some other players...usually I just flick the right analog down+right during a jog (no speed burst),although it doesn't work all the time.........
I am still pursuing the goal of finding how to get to play with the Fevernova?EA ball....I hope this unbeatable tournament is the answer!!!!!!!!! If anyone finds out than post it here please!!!!

a few things:
1) what skill level are you playing on?
2) they took the curl out because it ruined the 2002 version. i could be just about any team, and beat Real Madrid with scores like 16-2.
3) to volley, repeatedly tap whatever type you want. pass/shot/volley, reference your manual to understand the controls.
4) the type of pass/shot/volley you do depends on how hard you kick the ball. you CAN STILL CURL the ball, but only with a certain amount of power.
i, for one, am glad that EA got rid of the curl, it was way too easy to score with it. when i can score 12 goals with Thierry Henry against Real Madrid, with the difficulty level on World Class, then something is VERY wrong!
i think that they could have maybe left the curl in the game (assigned to a button(s)), but made it much harder to do.

I have finished the following tournaments,some have a saveable reward,others you can't save after the final match=no reward....
EFA Trophy - no reward
Ladder tournament-no reward
regional tournament-no reward
international trophy-Seoul stadium
I have yet to do the "world tour tournament", and what is this "UNBEATABLE TOURNAMENT" I havn't seen that anywhere!!!
Is there another name for it????

-I have noticed as well that the speed button makes no difference once you have possesion of the ball. You can re-create the same speed using the right analog and tapping the ball ahead.try it!!!!!
yep, that's the way i use it. also, many times, i'll be on a wing, and getting ready to cross it, and i'll do a knock on from about 35 yards from goal, and i'll keep holding the sprint button, then i'll do one last knock on when i'm at the 18 yard box. that way...i'll be ahead of the defender when i want to cross, preventing the defender from interfering with my cross.
speaking of crosses. i have been doing some amazing crosses>headers with Henry being the recipient. i did a really long cross in the last game i played, it was from about 30 yards out, it was crossed by Robert Pires. i'm not sure how i was onside, but i was. and Henry went up, he pushed the defender away, and headed it in the top corner of the goal. it was a thing of beauty.
oh, also...on corner kicks, how many of you use short corners by pressing the X button? i like to do that, and then just chip it up from the bottom of the 18 yard box, and hope that someone can head it in the goal. i made one with Wiltord last game. it's relatively easy to do, but takes a bit of practice.
what difficulty level does everyone play on? i play on Professional, and once i master it, then it's on to World Class!

I play on professional...but sometimes I will throw it on amateur because you can be more original in your attack.The defenders don't mark as well so you can get more air lobs done/corners/crosses
