dr j. how are you doing this all? the wall jump i havent even had the chance to do yet, bceause i dont foul on my side of the field (yet). but how did you volley those shots? please reply on this. i apreciate it

Long Shooting??????
Hey ive been trying for the past few days to see how far out you can score from.............the furthest i have scored is from about 5 yards outside the box!!(not including free kicks, ive scored tons of then from all over the pitch!!)
ive tried all the long shots, tried chipping, different angles....etc, the keeper always saves it or it goes agonisingly wide!!!
anyone have any tips??????????.........
Also any clue as to how to hear or volley a corner???
Every corner ive taken, my players NEVER repsond in the box, ive pushed every button!!! Nothing!!!
Other than the above, this game is amazing and not terrible as many people seem to think.............i can even watch the computer play itself, its so realistic.!!!!

i would like to know which formation you all are playing and whether you feel any difference in defence, because i don't.
i tried different ones last night playing (as Inter ) against Liverpool. first 4-4-2. then 5-3-2 then 5-4-1 DEFENSIVELY.
now with the latter one you would expect a situation in which your defenders stand on each other's feet and there'd be no more room for a mouse to pass. not so here. just like with every other line up Diouf can leisurely dribble straight through the middle (a gap of the size of the mouth of Gibraltar) and score. defenders in question literally miles away, way too much free space in my box. no difference WHATSOEVER to playing 4-4-2 or whichever other formation.

The wall jump doesn't happen all the time.....but it seems more possible when the free-kick is closer to the goal........
The volleying is pretty easy........I aim for the player standing on the penalty kick circle and press the volley button many times...when I see that his triangle has a strong white outline(meaning you have priority over the ball)then I just keep the volley button pressed down so that the shot is stronger
*you have to have a skilled player do this...not everyone is good enough(ex.Raul/diouf/owen).

I've scored several times now from about 40 yards out, not from a free kick. What I do is develop some possesion and have my Center Midfielder get open. I give him the ball. Make sure he is wide open and relatively in the middle of the pitch. As soon as he gets it hold the shoot button, but not to much, or it will go high and wide. Don't try to angle the shot too much with your analog stick, just tap it. It takes some practice but I have been able to pull it off.

I am thinking of getting the PS2 version of the game since my PC' s video card cannot support the game and I do not want to upgrade it yet. Just one quick question:
Is there a built-in creation center type of feature in the PS2 version of the game, i.e. you can create custom teams w/ basic jersey designs, leagues, competitions etc.
I am trying to get an idea about how the gameplay compares to the PC version by browsing the previous messages, but if anyone has a major point or comment concerning the difference, it is welcome.

I have previously played older FIFA versions only on PC, so I decided to do something different and buy 2003 for my PS2. I think the game is great, although the graphics are probably better on the PC. I really enjoy playing the game, and the realistic nature of the game.
I have only played the game a handful of times, but I think the key to mastering this game is to figure out the right analog stick.
