That was a tough loss for the US. We were up 1-0 at the end of the first half and Barrett missed a 1-v-1 with the goalkeeper. Could have made it 2-0. Then we conceded two very unlucky goals in the second half. But the way we played in the second half, I don't think we deserved to go through.

That's exactly what happened earlier in the game, when the US did clear out the ball, and they weren't going to fall for it again.

And Italy had bad sportmanship aswell. They were nice enough to kick the ball deep out of our 1/3 and then defend the throw in after we cleared it out ealier for one of their injured.

You know the great part about cheering for America. You can lose! Who the hell expected us to win outside of the USA? No one, that's who. If we lose it's just what was expected against a team like Italy. Big deal, we'll be back next time. If Italy lose they have to hear about it for months and have to deal with unfair expectations and horrible sportsmanship from the Italian nation (like when Ahn knocked Italy out of the world cup and he got sacked from his Italian club).
