YES! We get the chokers! Our boys should get mad respect after Italy predictably chokes the game away (while crying about the refs the whole time) and we advance to the next round. If there's one major U-20 team I'm not scared of at all, it's the Italians. Although the Spanish seem to be just as good at exiting tournaments way too early.

USA won theirs, ahead of Germany and Argentina, and didn't lose.

I think his cockyness is acceptable.

Yeah you know what, you're right. Being an American by birth, I just have no concept of soccer; we haven't even started to play! Because the history of America playing soccer before 1983 has SOOO much to do with me right? I know just as much as you (probably more) about this game. Cockiness? Oh, so when an American talks some trash and is confident about his team's chances he's cocky, but when a German does it he's just confident? Bite me.

And once again I'm sorry, but how far did Italy advance in the last two major competitions, WC 2002 and Euro 2004? How far? You know, I probably just can't remember because the amazing play of the Italians was just too much for my puny American mind to comprehend. But I seem to remember one of the biggest groups of overhyped, no performance, pussies crying about the refs even though they played worse than any other team in the tournament. If Italy played half as good as Saudi Arabia in 2002 they would have been lucky. God what a ****ty team. History means nothing to me, Italy has been one of the worst international teams in the past 4 years and for that reason I'm not scared of them, and especially not at the U-20 level where we have some of the best players at their ages of anyone in the world.

**** Italy. And if you hate "american cockiness" then I hate European arrogance and feeling of superiority much much more. Your team is going to be below the Nigerias, Chinas, Japans, and USAs of the world in soccer soon enough, oh wait according to the last two major international competitions, you already are under us. Wake up man! There won't ever be a "normal" again! The old world of soccer is gone and the nations you could once walk all over are now often times better than the former powers. No one was in our group, oh well except Portugal of course, who were runners up in the Euro competition, a competition Italy fell flat on its face in. A country like the United States with more and more kids playing soccer is going to overtake nations like England and Italy, it's only a matter of time. And this is being reflected right now in the U-20 competition.

Nobody was in our group except for one of the pre tournament favorites in Portugal, a good European nation in Poland, and the hosts South Korea who got to the semis. Why are we talking about WC 02 anyways. This is the U 20 championship thread.
