I posted this in the game thread, but ill do it here, because, well, it more appropriate. Not to take the wind out of your collective sails (congrats on the win, by the way) but is Carson on the horizon for Liverpool in the forseeable future? I know he is young, but Dudek's blunders like these must leave Benitez and the management open to suggestion

I feel really bad about that goal.... I just can't stop thinking that Leverkusen can really beat us 2-0... :(

I think we should give Biscan more chances really, especially with Alonso injured. I mean, how many chances have we given Kewell? Plenty, especially compared 2 Biscan, and Biscan has probably pulled off more good appearances than Kewell

I disagree with this. Biscan has had plenty of games to show us what he can do. i dunno why sometimes he can look like a real good player but other times he does nothing.

if rafa is gonna play carson he has to start him in the carling cup game first.

also can someone please explain the whole diarra situation for me. when was he signed and is he set to return to liverpool this summer. is the diarra at lyon the same player or not?

he looks like a quality player and someone we could do with for midfield cover when gerrard and alonso are not playing.

Yeh i agree, we have given him more then enough chances. All he seems to do is play well in european tournaments like the champions league and is so s*** when he fills in to play a premier league game.

Yeh Diarra at Lyon is different from our one who is on loan at Lens. He is actually kicking ass atm. Hopefully he can fill in as CB when he returns to liverpool and make a huge impact.

i think Rafa was correct here:

Rafa Benitez has warned Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard to stop writing off the team's chances of winning silverware.
Gerrard had dismissed The Reds' prospects of success in the UEFA Champions League earlier this week, prior to the 3-1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen.

The talismanic midfielder suggested it would not be Liverpool's year in the competition, much to the chagrin of his manager.
Benitez is disappointed with the comments of his skipper and believe they are not conducive to helping the club move forward.

Instead, the Reds boss wants Gerrard to start talking up Liverpool's chances of lifting trophies to ensure there is a winning mentality in the dressing room.

"I spoke with Steven and said to him, in future, it is better to think we CAN win the Champions League," said Benitez.

"Why not? We need winners here and everyone thinking only of winning.

"I always want to win.

"When we lose, I only think about solutions. If you only think about winning the next game, you don't know what the draw will be.

"If we can win the next game, maybe we will draw a side that isn't so strong or a side with injuries or suspensions."

Yah, dunno what all that buisness was about with Gerrard's comment, though some of the things footy players say to the media, well :kader: Thats to say nothing of the things the papers simply make up. But after your dusting of Leverkusen, I wouldnt be surprised for the Reds use that Champs League mojo to move into the semis or something like that. Its strange how sometimes team can be so brilliant in one league/set of fixtures, and look hopeless in something else, though hopefully, Liverpool can make a run at that 4th spot or better, despite some of the below par efforts that have come out this year

Anyway, good luck in Cardiff. Will be a brillaint match, Im sure, with Liverpool riding high, and im sure Jose will be doing anything in his power to get the Blues prepared with the last two games. Anyway, should be a proverbial cracker (Y) Hell, this could be the only silverware either team gets their hands on this year, but hopefully not. Im a lil biased towards Chelsea in that dept though :D

OMG they lost but good try from Liverpool.:(

Well there is next year.:D

Man i cried when they lost

And when biscan headed the ball and cech got it, i put my head down in dispair.:kader:

outclassed all over the pitch today. need to make big changes in the summer.... ide like to see kewell and baros shown the door. feel gutted for kewell today though, shame he broke a nail so clearly couldnt play on

there is more and more evidence that stevie g has his mind set for chelsea.. since chelsea can't crack us during the normal period so he just gave them a helping hand with it.. the commentator was saying among all the players it has to be him MR LIVERPOOL.. my ass it is... he can fork off to chelsea this summer, we can use the amount we get a buy a few more players and build the team around xabi alonso..

once again.. thank you stevie g for giving me one hell of a sleepless night and countless nightmare last nite.. :f***:
