Teams don't have to impress to win leagues. Results will do.

On Brown, Michael Brown that is, bloody disgraceful. If that was Rooney or Ronaldo or Scholes, it would be a five match ban.

Evra did really well, huge improvement from last season. If he plays this well consistently, Heinze will have a solid backup, and if he continues to improve as the season goes along, he may very well push Heinze for a starting spot. But the way he played, I wouldn't be scared to put Evra in big games.

Was it me, or did our attackers look really calm in their finishes? I think that even late last season with the same or similar lineup (obviously not including Scholes), we would have converted maybe 2 of the 4 goals. In last season, the Ronaldo goal and the second Rooney goal wouldn't have surprised me if they ended up in the stands. Saha's header was ace, as well, although he was pretty much unmarked.

I was away from the computer for the Brown/Giggs collision, does anyone have a clip?

Its not only early but its just our first game and lets not get carried away shall we? I usually judge after 10 games or so cos thats when the lads are really settled into the groove.

Let's hope that especially Saha can stay fit for a while, with him upfront it gives Rooney, Ronaldo, Giggs/Park and Scholes more space to do there own thing. Ronaldo has grown up since the WC, no bitching around, he is quiet and talks with his feet. That tackle on Giggs was not good at all, and yeah if it was one of our players it would be highlighted in the media and surely he would have been banned for atleast 5 games or so. If the FA wants to prove that they aren't targetting our club then this is the time to do that

the result could have been even better, but i guess man united didn't really want to crush fulham so badly at the start of the premiership.. I mean, something like 10-1 would tear coleman's contract to the club, wouldn't it.. :rockman:

Performing is one thing, consistency is another. Let's hope the team build on the confidence we have now. :rockman:

I think they will, just imagine how keen the players that take Rooney and Scholesy's spots in the next three games will be to impress - given the performances on Sunday. Michael Carrick should make his EPL United debut on Saturday so I guess it will be Giggsy and Sheasy in midfield, with Park and Ronny on the wings for Wednesday. I reckon Ole will partner Louis up front and Rossi will be on the bench.

It's vital the boys stay motivated for games like Charlton and Watford, it's been our performances against the so called "lesser teams" that has cost us two titles. However I believe this season they've got the message.

Having said all that, It was really great to see United playing at pace again - just like the old days.

i must admit...that i had goosebumps when solskjaer came on....i love him to death and it's great to see him playing again!

Depends on if Fergie lied to us all or not, if he did then maybe the 1st knock-out round, if not and if we really get few more players then we could win it.

And a good thing about the Carrick signing is that he adds distribution that can unlock defenses with Rooney or Saha or Ronaldo or even Park running at full pace. And that he can just as well slow the game down, he is very composed in the midfield with the ball.

I think it's been said, but Hargreaves wasn't in the Bayern squad.

Yeah, he had the flu, but he has asked if he can talk to us, but Bayern isn't allowing him to do that, they believe that his dream of joining us will end as soon as the window closes

Disciplinary reasons. He will probably be excluded from the squad until September 1st.

For what? If he wants to join us then let him join us, you will receive good money for him, I can't see the fuzz around him from Bayern side, for years he wasn't important for the club untill the last season or so, and now that he wants to join us, all of a sudden he is the future of the club
