haha, seems a bit exaggerated. I've got a pretty good understanding of the numbers and stuff but you should look at some mock drafts to get a pretty good idea of when to draft certain players. Its my first time doing a fantasy league for baseball too so I'll see how I do.Originally posted by TheBlueBalla
By the way, im doing fantasy for the first time ever this season. Anyone got any good pointers to get me off the ground, or any rules of thumb? This morning on the radio, a guy said that to be at least good, you should spend an hour or more on research per day Is that true?
I've got a subscription to ESPN the Magazine so I've read it a couple of times.Originally posted by dannyeli
But buy the last issue of ESPN the magazine or go through internet and look for mock drafts.
That's a pretty good team, what round did you draft Huff in?Originally posted by ShiftyPowers
I just had mine today, so I'll put up my team. I had the sucky 11th overall pick and took Manny and concentrated on pitching early on. Maybe got too many Brewers
C Estrada - Atlanta
1B Huff - Tampa Bay
2B/1B Utley - Philly
3B Wright - Mets
SS Matsui - Mets
OF Ramirez - Bo Sox
OF Patterson - Cubs
OF Bradley - Dodgers
1B/OF Overbay - Crew
OF Jenkins - Crew
SS Wilson - Pirates
OF Crisp - Indians
SS/2B Upton (late round gamble) - Tampa Bay
SP Schmidt - Giants
SP Sheets - Crew
SP Zito - Oakland
SP Lilly - Toronto
SP Suppan - Cardinals
CL Wagner - Philly
RP Gordon - Yankees
RP/CL? Hawkins - Cubs
I'm not satisfied, but I like most of these players, Wright finished REALLY stong last year and I think my pitching is just absolutely top notch for a 12 team league.

After that trade I have hated them. I became a Padre fan in 1998 when they went to the World Series.
I remember in ESPN when they talked of how the Brewers are something you can joke about; Rockies however are just way too terrible of a franchise to even mention. I like how the Brewers are looking right now, even though they aren't really threatening at the moment, they are slowly growing. Jose Capellan and Doug Davis anyone?Originally posted by ShiftyPowers
Best baseball player in the major leagues is Ben Sheets. Best player in the minor leagues is Rickie Weeks. What does this mean? The Brewers are going to win the World Series this year. BELIEVE!!!
