Im not denying his goalscoring ability. Its just that he has a bad work ethic and i dont think he will add much heart to the team.

His goals raise the teams spirit, so yeah he does add to the heart of the team. Ronaldo is essential to our team regardless of your opinion of him.

I can't believe I have to defend Ronaldo.

I think when the other players see Ronaldo standing in one place for most of the game waiting for the ball like he always does, it does not help with team spirit. If i was any player out there i would be pissed off at that. Essential??

Are you ok Socrates? Have you been taking the wrong medications or something? I can't believe I have to explain to you why Ronaldo is important. Matter of fact, I'll let him do the talking with his goals when he returns.

I feel fine, thanks for asking.:) I just dont think Ronaldo will add spirit to the team and i dont think he is the most important player to our team either. I never doubted his goalscoring ability. Wait for him to return and play 2 games than get injured again. He should be doing something like what Cassano is doing, losing weight to get in top shape. Anyways lets just move on.

So who do you guys think will play for Guti?

OK, this is the best available stating lineup with the current injuries.

------------------Casillas-----------------
Cicinho----Woodgate----Ramos----R.Carlos
------------------Helguera----------------
--Beckham---Baptista---Zidane---Robinho--
-------------------Cassano---------------

Gravesen has been mediocre as of late so I would play Helguera in his spot.

I think it's gonna be either

Woodgate & Helguera @ CB
Ramos as DM
and Gravesen takes Gutis place

or just Ramos & Helguera switch places

It true that Gravesen has not been playing great but i would prefer him then Helguera in the middle.

I was actually talking about the Betis game, sorry i didnt be so clear on that. I think some players will get rested like Zidane, RC, maybe Becks and maybe Ramos. We could play something like this.

-----------------------Casillas---------------------
Cicinho--------Woodgate------Mejia--------R. Bravo
-------------------Helguera (Gravesen)-------------
-------------------Gravesen (De la Red)------------
Balboa---------------Baptista---------------Robinho
---------------------Soldado-----------------------

Gravesen can get his attacking role that he wants and we can see how he does there or we could always just play De la Red in Guti's spot.

are you seriously bashing R9???
When has Ronaldo NOT played "lazy" (according to your terms). This is how he always has played and has won a lot of things this way.... I cant seriously see Baptista being better in that position or Soldado....or Henry, or Adriano or schevchenko....etc...

:S at Gravesen + Helguera in the midfield. We better try a more natural solution, as Baptista replacing Guti and Soldado or Cassano as striker.

About the Ronaldo point, I have to agree with Socrates... Ronnie can decide matches when fit but he's a 0 in teamwork, he's so lazy most of the time...

Becks is God

Reserve Team
------------------Casillas-----------------
Cicinho----Woodgate----Ramos----R.Carlos
------------------Helguera----------------
--Beckham---Baptista---Zidane---Robinho--
-------------------Cassano---------------

That looks good but id like to see:

------------------Casillas-----------------
Cicinho----Woodgate----Ramos----R.Carlos
------------------Gravesen----------------
--Beckham---Cassano---Zidane---Robinho--
-------------------Soldado---------------

He is lazy there is nothing to argue about there. A lazy player and a lazy person in general. I never said Baptista and Soldado are better than him but in team contribution/teamwork/etc Ronaldo would score a big 0. Ronaldo is a lazy player with individual ambitions.

I was a bit scared of the idea of having Gravesen + Helguera too. Cassano would be a nice option to play for Guti.

I highly doubt that so many first team players will start. I would not mind this

--Balboa---Baptista---Cassano---Robinho--
-------------------Soldado---------------
How about this?

We all can agree that Ronaldo can win a game with his goals but to said that he a lazy player with individial ambitions i don't think so.Ronaldo can pass the ball.He has done key passes for goals. He can score and he can set-up goals too.

i love ronaldo, but i agree, he is lazy, despite all his talents. I actually want to sell him after this season, his value will be high. I'd rather have a player that gives his all out on the pitch, look at raul, even when he couldnt score to save his life, he was still running all over the pitch trying to win the ball and motivate his team. Ronnie often looks disinterested when he's out there. Plus he never tracks back, we need all players working hard all game if we want success.

Just because you can pass the ball does not mean you are not lazy. I mean think if Ronaldo could consistantly hold up the ball so others can go forward, recapture the ball, putting pressure on the opponents, give a lot of movement off the ball, and etc.

I think that thing you want is never in Ronaldo style of playing not even before he had his really bad injury.I dont think he did that before with Barcelona or Inter but yet he did the job a striker must do that is score goals and he still does.I don't know why all those bashing comment now on Ronaldo and he had been a huge factor in the Real Madrid team.
