Great ones!!!!!! I agree, if FIFA could look a bit more like Nhl 2k it would kick ass!!!! WHAt about some indoor soccer with Tournaments???

You all are right.
-I agree that the transfer system should be much more realistic.
-More head faces and hair cut are needed !
-There should be much much more stadium with a more alive crowd ( reaction to the referee decisions, songs, flags, red smokes etc )

There have been some cool ideas so far, and if I'm about to repeat any of those I apologise.
* Stadium select would be essential, but failing that could we please have a more accurate template for each team. Why is Villa Park (40,000 capacity) made to look like something division two would be ashamed of ? Also, different teams have different size pitches, please include this.
* The career mode could be extended to include more seasons and a full lower division with the chance to get a small team promoted. Maybe even with ages, injuries, retirements and youth player development. New young players can be computer generated with random names and random initial skills that can be developed through experience and performance.I agree NHL 2K style streaks are a great idea.
* A return to the old system of player surnames only would make it easier to remove and replace players without losing name commentary. Adjustable player heights and weights (again see NHL 2K)would be an excellent progression.
* Introduce more movement by central midfield to support the front players (late runs into the box for crosses) as the current AI feels very static in this respect.
* The current player models look very poor up close compared to FIFA 99, please bring them back up to standard.
* Team badges/crests for the kits and menu screens, and the chance to chose where they appear on the shirt/shorts.;-)

Oh, and I forgot to mention, would anyone other than me like to option to include a player foot preference (editable), especially for shooting ? A lot of top players only seem to use one foot.

Ok, I won't complain about pitch size or teams that should be included, you people can do that.
All I would like to see is:

1: Keepers commiting fouls, it seems the keeper never can make any fouls.

2: Keepers getting injured, if the keeper jumps in front of another player he might get injured in real life please put this in the game!!

3: make injuries vary! now all injuries last about 2-3 games. make it from rest of the game to the rest of the season(it would suck but its reality!)

4: MORE THEN just 3 seasons. UNLIMITED would be nice. Also make other teams buy and sell players. This is already in Triple Play, Why not in FIFA 2001?

5: Allow users to warm up players first, they do it in real life and its also available in Triple play.

6: Put full second divisons in game, allow player to choose second or first divison team, were second divison means playing 1st season in 2nd divison with ofcourse possible promotion and 1st divison team possible relegation. NOT JUST GAME OVER!!

7: Unlimited slots for jerseys.

8: easy to edit jerseys. The people making the jerseys today could be EA's designers tomorow!

I think this is about it be free to respond

I think this wishlist is the best on the web.Unlimited slots for jerseys, a wish by Fred is a very good one.

Pleas reply this wishlist and maybe EA will consider this wishlist.

I've got a new wish too.
I would like to see an option for choosing a ref. Ofcourse existing referees would be nice.

Come On Guys! Your wishes are all good but lets be realistic!
It wasn't that buggy (Unless you guys got the warez version).
Something to edit stadiums, now come on, you guys do that already. So what's the need for EA to include one?
And what do you mean unrealistic 360 move? We can do it. So can they (the players).
There are many more unrealistic wishes but being strapped for time I can't write them all down.

I personally like Landis's wishes, cause they're the most realistic, the most likely to be done in Fifa 2001.
But the real thing needed would be internet play.

After successive generations of FIFA games we are now on the brink of something great occuring. If we all just took a minute to see the differences between FIFA and real Footy we would see.....

*The actual 'passing' in the game isn't that bad but LOBBED THRU-BALLS really are a must.

*Volleyed shots shouldn't be spectacular scissor-kicks all the time

* The keepers are TOO QUICK on their feet. They save free-kicks when standing on the wrong side of their goal! I would like to see a bit of realism here. Just look at the Necaxa free-kick against Man U in the WCC!

*The same goes for any shot from over 25 yards. Plenty of goals go in from over 25 yards, so lets see them.

*Prefered foot for each player(L/R/BOTH).

*Yes, a bigger pitch would be nice.

*A stadium editor should take the format of a football management simulation(modular blocks/stand types etc.), infact...why don't EA take the step of integrating both FOOTBALL and MANAGEMENT in a really thorough fashion. The sales and respect would go through the roof!

* Linesmen, Ballboys, Photographers and BENCHES/DUGOUTS, for christs sake if they can make QAUKE 3 graphics, then surely we can have a subs bench! (with balding manager milling about).

*Injuries as determined in a management simulation. How long and Why?

*Names on Back of shirts, color choice for 'back of shirt' name and number.

*Ball types specific to each league - this could also be done for adboards! (EA: They'd all sit in the textures directory and be called upon for each league)

* A .t3d mesh for Mitre type balls that doesn't blur at the edges!

* The 50 or so generic kits that EA offer with the initial install of the game should be more relevant to kit trends of the time, all support 3 colors AND all work!!!!

*The 'post-goal net cam' (which is great!) should be selectable in the instant/replay menu.

* Since their is such a huge amount of editing going on for FIFA title, why don't EA do a definite graphics editor for us all to use. What do they have to lose?

* Shooting should be less accurate and the keepers should leave their line more so there is more opportunity to for long-range goals.

*Referees and Linesmen should be fallible in their offside decisions (personally I turn Referee strictness down to nearly none at the moment - stops irrelevant offsides!)

*There needs to be research done into why a lot of attacks in football games sit and originate around the 18 yard box.

*Sqaud selection for International sides.

*I agree with all the other points mentioned here. If anyone can crack this genre, EA can.
With a little bit of extra effort. The next few FIFA's could do for football gaming in th 00's what SENSIBLE SOCCER did for football gaming in the 90's!

*Get Jonathan Pearce to do the commentary!!!!

Thankyou and goodnight!

I must agree with all of you guys. All the suggestions have been tremendous well thought out and are truely valid critisism of F2K. I must admit I love F2k, although I agree it could have been done alot better. My suggestion are as follows:

1. Random pitch sizes
Wembley is a different size to San Siro and the Maracana, so EA should have random pitch sizes.
2. Slow the game down
More time to make decisions before passing and bring back the step over moves
3. Straight passing in the air and straight shots ( Press a button when you are lobbing, crossing to make the ball curl or curl and dip when taking a shot ie Ginola or Rivaldo) Not pressing the curl button means when taking a straight shot e.g piledriver type shot, it ends up like a Shearer shot or a Kewell rocket.
4. Standing volley shots, why is it when you volley in the field the players volley properly, but once you try and volley in the box with the shoot button the players do a funny hop volley with their shins?
5.Crowd animations
Why does ALL the crowd move during the game? EA has to have the crowd look alot more realistic, by having different areas of the crowd doing different things ie standing up in a section of the stadium and remonstrating with the referee over a bad decision. How about flares or smoke flares surely EA have discovered dynamic lighting in 3d games. Also what about realistic crowd reaction when you are playing away from home the crowd should boo and taunt the away team. If youre at home and your 3-0 up and its the 90th minute the crowd should shout ole ole ole with every pass.
6. Realistic player bodies and faces
The players look thin and weak and look like cartoon characters.
7. INTERNET PLAY!!!!! (nuff said!)
8. Chesting the ball down for other players who are running on to the ball for a shot or volley. Also the lob headers take to long to reach your players. It would be cool to be able to header back a cross with a high,hard and fast ball back across goal for a team mate to header in, volley or even humiliate the keeper and chest the ball in,
9. Outside of the ball passing and shooting!!
10. To be able to juggle the ball or lift the ball to yourself onto youre thigh. This would be great when youre going in for a 50/50 ball and you just lift the ball over the players legs

cheers guys happy F2K gaming it still rocks and is better than any other soccer game out there!!!

All these suggestions are great and I've got a few more.

1 - more goal mouth scrambles.
2 - more goals scored by build up play outside the box
3 - make it easier to score goals & freekicks from outside the box
4 - Make the damn refs consistant. i.e. all tackles from behind are fouls and if your through on goal and hacked down a red card not a random ruling.
5 - Ocassional dodgy offsides/ball crossing line etc.
6 - when the ball is on the goal line the defender can clear it or goalkeepers pick it up rather than leap over it.
7 - goalkeepers are less dodgy (i.e. watching ball go past them then ;eaping on it just b4 it crosses the line) but easier to beat with a good shot.
8 - lobs, crossfield ball as well as lob pass (i.e. corner to corner).
9 - better & more realsitic skill moves.
10 - Improved sheilding (allowing you to spin away from your many).
11 - make the game difficulty settings not just a question on pace (i.e. ameteaur easy because they're slower - world class hard only because they got more pace)
12 - Better defence - man to man marking in game, defenders tracking players and not leaving great big holes in defense at goal kicks.
13 - All the divisions in a country for proper promotion/relegation
14- Oh and sponsorship cause EA already own sponsorship for the Premiership.

Great Calls, but what about these:

*) Slow down the flow of the game by:

-Larger pitches.(variating from stadium to stadium)
-make the passing between the players sometimes less accurate and not so fast paced.

*) Give special attention to set-pieces by:

-Letting us make or customize our own set- pieces in training (and save them), so that we can call on them in the actual matches.

*) Make the shoot and pass ability of the players much much more realistic by letting us play:

-real accurate and inaccurate distance shots.
-tight high passes over the defenders in real empty spaces for players to run into.
-not always so incredible accurate passes and shots
-combinations between players like; one- two's and improve the through passes.
-Make the special overhead kicks more difficult.

*) The AI ofcourse must be tweaked by letting:

-the defense act more like a whole group and not so much individually.
-midfielders generally must have a better sight of the game by improving their running and passing skills.
-forwards play over the wings much more and combinate much better ,like one two's (etc).
-the referee have a brain , let them make mistakes but also certain straight rules.

*) Add different kinds of goalposts with different sort of nettings. Also have more grass kinds, aswell textured as size.

*) Include the highlights in the break of the game and provide them with special commentary. Also let us see highlights of the computer played matches.

*) Have differnt kind of actual balls implented. Each competition has to have it's own ball, just like in real-life.

*) Stadiums don't always have to be completely full. Let there be more audience when top class matches are being played and in relegation matches have less audience.

Let me know what you think of this guys!!!!

I agree with most comments posted here, but I have a few of my own.
1. Analogue control system - Why the hell can you only run in 8 directions-this makes the game totally unrealistic. If anyone has played uefa striker you will know what I mean. This will also help to FULLY control your shots, for example: if you do not push any direction after the shot has been hit, it will go straight, you can add swerve with directions.
2. INTERNET PLAY. THIS IS SOOOOOOOO IMPORTANT.
3. I would love it if they incuded as many leagues, cups, etc.. as sensible world of soccer.
4. Unlimited slots for kits. (each team has its own, easily editable kit.)
5. REALISTIC SCORELINES BY SLOWING DOWN PLAY, INCREASING PITCH SIZE, etc....
6. Full use of EA's Premiership, MLS and Bundesliga licenses. (Hopefully more too)
7. Powerbar for both shots, and passes. eg: held pass = high ball, tapped pass = short pass.
8. Graphical changes. eg, Names on back of shirts, dug-outs with managers, subs,etc..., photographers, linesman and ballboys.

hmmmmmmm..... can't think of any more at the moment.
Hope I get some response to my suggestions.

Fifa2000 has only 4 buttons on the keyboard to use, on Fifa99's controls were MUCH better. So for Fifa2001 they should have nearly every single letter a different thing. What also should be included (which im 100% sure wont be) is the way the players shoot the ball. E.G. when Bergkamp shoots outside the area he holds his hand up a little. That would be cool, wouldnt it?
Also, if a player scores a Hat-trick inside 20 minutes of some time, then they will be on a hot streak for the whole time until the other team score, and if the WHOLE team have a pass twice or more without the opposition touching the ball, then there should be a team streak (instead of only 1 player being on a hot streak, the whole team is on a hot streak) until the the opppositon scores 3 goals. That would be the best!!!

Here are some things I think would make Fifa2001 even better than the current Fifa game.

1. Make the pitch alittle bigger. It is almost alright but it could be alittle bigger to open up play.

2. Allow the user to select the Stadiums as in Fifa 98.

3. How about adding more celebrations for when you score. Why not add the celebrations from the other Fifa games. The more the better.

4. Slow the game down by about 15%.

5. Put back weather and day/night selection in the front end of the game.

6. Don't have compulsary night time finals.

7. Add more leagues. The Australian league/cup would be nice. It doesn't have to have all the correct players names, just have the Teams.

8. Inform the player how many games a player is injured for.

9.Have a two option season mode. A season mode like in Fifa2000 and a Simulation season mode. The Simulation Season mode could have some advanced management functions in it.

//////////////////////////////////////
/ S I M U L A T I O N S E A S O N /
//////////////////////////////////////

Here is my idea on how to make some basic management functions in future Fifa releases. These ideas can be expanded on, but the following is a basic concept of how to have some improved team management in the game.

-Every team has an active salary.
-Have a Callender Screen with the up coming games noted on it.
-Have a player BIOLOGY rating and a team PERFORMANCE rating.
-Players have an active vtransfer value.

CALLENDER SCREEN
==================
Shows all upcoming games to be played but extra friendlies can be added to the schedual. See PERFORMANCE rating below.

BIOLOGY SETUP
===============
-Have a three step system of how the players BIOLOGY condition is either...

-HIGH. Player is healthy & wants to play. PLayers SKILL level increases one point in all areas.

-MEDIUM. Player is indifferent. SKILL level remains the same.

-LOW. Player doesn't really want to play.SKILL level decreases by one point in all areas.

BIOLOGY can be affected by...
- Playing in Extreme conditions. Hot/Snow
- The amount of Soccer played. Fatigue/Unprepared
- The teams PERFORMANCE rating.
- PPA (Players Points Allocation)

BIOLOGY can be viewed either at...
a)team level(For quick reference/adjustment its the teams average)
b)indervidually (For more detailed reference/adjustment)

PPA (Players Points Allocation)
==================================

There will be a team performance chart. This chart will be only for your team. This list will include
- Man of the Matches
- Goals
- Cards
- PPA

PPA will be dettermined by the following formula.
PPA = Man of the Matches + GOALS - CARDS

PERFORMANCE RATING
=====================

-By clicking onto a future HOME game on the calender you bring up the match option screen.

This screen would have an estimated Crowd Attendance.This comes in 3 levels...
Capacity
Average
Small

Now each side in the competition will have a PERFORMANCE rating. This would be either 1,2,3. This rating could be as simple as how the side has competed in the last three games. A PERFORMANCE rating of three means the side will get a capacity for its next home game. A rating of two will mean an average crowd and one a Small crowd.
A home ground capacity crowd will earn a sum of money for the club.
A home ground average crowd would earn no money.
A home ground small crowd would loose money for the club.
An away game would not earn or deduct money from the club.

Now a way for a club to make extra money would be to play a friendly (either home or away) amongst their scheduled league games on their calender.(Must be against a side from another league or international side & they must be booked at least two calender months ahead of the game.)
This has the advantage of counting as a game for determining the PERFORMANCE rating plus the club will recieve a sum of money. Therefor if three games are used to determine a performance rating it will be worth the side playing three friendlies before the start of the league season. The disadvantage is that your players may become injured, suspended and if not enough time is given the players BIOLOGY levels may decrease. (It may be worth resting some players and playing the bench to keep up their match practice (& BIOLOGY levels.))

CLUB SALARY BONUSES
=====================

These can be gained by achieving a high place in your league or cup at the end of the season. Bonus money can also be earned by qualifying for the European Championship & the EFA Trophy.

TRANSFERS
============
Your side will be split into two divisions, ODD or EVEN. Every odd year 2001,2003 etc. your ODD players must be paid at the start of the year. Every even year 2002,2004 etc. your EVEN players must be paid.
Purchasing a player will put them onto a 2 year contract. This will be consistant amongst all the leagues so only half a side will be available to sell or buy.

PLAYER VALUES
================
A players transfer value will be adjusted at the end of their contract. (After two years)
An exampleof how a players value can be determined could be by the following formula.

INITIAL VALUE * PERFORMANCE rating * PPA rating * BIOLOGY = NEW VALUE

Initial Value = Value at start of previous season.

PERFORMANCE rating (Teams Rating)
3 = 1.15
2 = 1
1 = 0.85

BIOLOGY rating
4 = 1.2
3 = 1.1
2 = 1
1 = 0.9

PPA rating
At the end of the season the players PPA comes into affect for the players who are off contract (ODD/EVEN). The players PPA will affect their transfer value.

1 = Final PPA = Negative Value then, PPA rating = 0.85
2 = Final PPA = zero then, PPA rating = 0.00
3 = Final PPA = 1 to 4 then, PPA rating = 1.1
4 = Final PPA = over 4 then, PPA rating = 1.25

Example.

H Kewell
--------
Leeds United performance rating = 3
H Kewell's BIOLOGY = 2
H Kewells PPA rating = 3
H Kewell's Initial Value = $8000k
H Kewell's final value = $8000k* 1.25 * 1 * 1.1 = $11000k

He may now be rebought or sold for $11000k. If he is sold his records will be reset to the default setting. eg. In two years he will be worth $8000k.

AI TEAMS
---------

AI controlled teams and players will not go through the same process as mentioned above. However their total team salary will be adjusted based on how high they finish in their league or cup finals.

=======================================================================
In the future with increased computer power and with Fifa being distributed on DVD a much more advanced management system would be possible. The above recomendations are just a small collection of ideas I had that could add another dimension to Fifa 2001 until much larger changes are possible. Please voice your opinions of this setup below.

It's good to see that everyone has so much input for EA to use. I've been on holiday, and was shocked to see all of the other suggestions that people have made. I agree with most of what all of you have said, but Galah- all of that is just way over my head, but I'm sure it may make sense to some one else. Keep the suggestions coming! I will try to post an updated list of everyone's suggestions in the near future. Keep the comments coming!

Well everyone, I've tried to update my list by getting rid of a few things that people didn't mention, and adding things that the majority wanted. I know that I've probably missed a few, but this covers a lot of the realistic things that can be changed.

1. Make the crowd respond better to the game, vary crowd size.

2. Make the pitches bigger.

3. Slow down the gameplay.

4. Hot & Cold streaks like in NHL2k

5. Make the injuries vary in length that the player is out, and tell us why.

6. Have a HEIGHT and WEIGHT category, along with better faces and hair.

7. Better Defensive AI, have the defense work as a whole to support one another

8. Better Ref AI

9. Lofted through ball, and a dump pass to the corners.

10. Bring back the basic special moves, and make the hop-over and 360 work less.

11. Keepers aren't as stupid as EA thinks! Make them more aggressive, but in turn make them get injured more often.

12. STADIUM SELECT

13. Preferred foot.

14. Internet play would be nice, as long as it is fluid and not jumpy.

15. Make the game scores more realistic.

16. Ball Physics: straight, curve, & dip.

17. Number on jerseys need to look better, and names on jerseys would be nice.

18. Shots need to be less accurate.

19. Midfielders need to make more wing runs, and overlaping runs into the box.

20. Better more realistic transfer system.

A stadionspeaker would be nice to announce a goal!!!!

One question for "Galah".
How do you manage to come up with ideas like that? Their fantastic !!!

Names on back of shirts is one thing I would like to see!!

Please vote on this topic!!!!

Sorry for the English and I hope you understand.

1. Linesman and photographers, ballboys, managers
2. Stadium select.
3. referees named should be annouced before the game starts
4. pitches to vary
5. editor for stadiums
6. crowds can be more realistic, and having them wave flags
7. commentary playback of all players in the game
8. when a foul is called you can take control of the player and start a fight
9. i don't think the game should be slowed down but there should be an option if you want to
10. have the ref speak, when calling out fouls etc
11. fireworks
12. mexican waves (that be cool)
13. National anthem to be playbefore each game starts
14. when the players get together for a team photo, you can take a photo and that can be placed in a hall of fame or something like that
15. openning ceremony the start of each cup game / season etc
16. in some games on of the people of the crowd can light a flare and you can see red smoke appear on some of the field
thats all i can think of for now... more later

Guys guys guys. Now let's all calm down here. 'Tis all very fitting that we are telling EA what to include in F2K1. But in case you had not realised you seem to be wanting them to make the game seem more like a management game rather than a football game. I mean, yes we all want the seasons to continue, we all want to change the players body parts and what have you but you can't expect them to have everything to perfection, can you? I myself would want all thos ethings you have all wished for (that includes playing over the net and not just via the modem which costs us more money). But at the end of the day, what you see is what you get. However, you do realise that if they do put all those things on the game, it will probably take a DVD disc to store them, otherwise we will have huge problems when installing the game onto our PC, coz a normal CD-ROM cannot take that much data, can it? Just something for you guys to think about. Oh and keep those wish lists coming.
One that I might like to add(if it has not been mentioned already) is to have the players surname on the back of the kits. I noticed this on the FA Premier League Stars game(ironically also made by EAsports) so I think they can do the same for F2K1. What do you think boys?
