Portugal was lucky this wasn't Nigeria they were playing. They would be 2 - 3 goals down. Portugal ain't no team. For real.

what a weird thing to say ... maybe they would have played differently against a different team. Peace out.

Portugal has one tight team.
Just waiting to get its cherry popped...

Weak tactics, and very weak teamwork.
Iran and Mexico should have no trouble running over them with good football.

Angola...

what a dull second half :nape:

Scolari subbing Ronaldo for Costinha basically handed Angola a chance to go forward in the pitch and try to cause us trouble. gladly our defense was pretty good today, specially Miguel and Valente.

meh, I'll take the 3 points but I'm not fully satisfied with our display.
we'll surely improve throughout the competition though, that's how our team usually works :jambo:

well, we'll see about that when the time comes.

Anyways, we were worse than England was yesterday, no creativity in midfield..

I'm really hoping this was just Scolari trying to be conservative and just guarenteeing the 3 points, winning ugly is better than losing your opening game of the WC. His bringing on of defensive midfielders Costinha and Maniche would indicate that..

Three points is three points, I guess. Portugal could have played better, but Angola was solid. Portugal with Deco should be much better, but they'll also play a better team in Iran.

Is Scolari the Pekerman of Argentina?

Your defense was ok, but forwards need to be more creative. Figo working from the right wing ain't gonna work. C.Ronaldo running at defenders ain't gonna work. You guys need faster and more creative work in the middle.

I surely hope we improve, but i saw people understimating Angola to much, and as we scored so soon, everyone excpected us to trash them, but they are not that bad.

Figo was amazing

I actually think Ronaldo's given up diving and is just trying to win freekicks by looking like he's going to cry.

this was very similar to England's game yesterday actually. Very weak conservative game.

I can understand why people underestimated them...When Argentina played them 2 or 3 weeks ago, they looked like a bunch of amateurs and we could have easily scored 4 goals. Their defence looked rock solid today and they actually began passing in the midfield like if they were a World-Class team.

Dude, really, stop with that conspiracies theories about Portuguese being the greatest divers on the world, get over it man... It's getting kind of annoying, i even like England, but most of you are really so f*cking arrogants sometimes...

Actually Figo was the best player. Every decent play (the few we had) was created by him, including the goal.

The rest was just too bad. And Scolari.. Wth was he thinking when doing those subs ??

The team's attitude has to change against Mexico and Iran.

Oh and Paulo Ferreira really must be brought on for Nuno Valente.

We had a nice start, but when we score an early goal we start to play like Italy, it doesn't matter if it is Angola or Brazil.
I almost fell asleep in this second half... We did absolutly nothing... Figo was the only one who tried to do something, but the other players prefered to pass backwards, how fun...
Is it lack of motivation? We could've had a really good start like Germany did 4 years ago when they won 4-0 (i think) in the opening match, and they ended up in the final..
I really hope we find more "motivation" against Iran, because if we play like this we're screwed..
