I can't believe this ...

I can't believe that you put things
such as minor details about "the colour

stupid to ask EA to fix theese minor
details instead of telling them to
bring us back the option to play a

A god point, but I was trying to list things that can actually be done easily. There is no point asking for big things, because they just can't (at least EA wont) be done without releasing a new game. I should have listed it for next time. I don't have a problem, because I have 3 controllers on one machine and usually play friendlies, winner stays on sort of thing (or 3 way play, 2 against 1).

I want the referee will given more cards, especially to the CPU as I have never seem card give to the CPU!! I think that the header of player side is too weak, so that i want it to be equal chance for me to head the ball away. The free kick of the player is bad too, I never score a free kick goal!! There ll also be training mode added to the game too!! I also think that the pass by CPU is too accurate, how can i get the ball if this happened?? One more thing is that why the tournament do not have their own regulation?? Such as UEFA Champion League, there is no chance for team of the same country to be in the same group!! And why i went to the quarter final, i got the opponent that i have face in the first group stage or even second grop stage!!

Well said Barry, the guys right, stop the moaning, but I wouldn't put it so harshly that you are shit though, just be a bit patient, the game is alittle bit more challenging this way, try and adapt, at leaaast you would master it in a lot longer period of time...and for the otheres, there is somethig called the ini.big filed. These aren't suggestions for a patch guys, because you can do them or amend them in the current game.


I Still say.

1. Enable multi-user teams in all tournaments including Season and WC (wanna play Deportivo and friend say Arsenal, and other friend say Boavista or Argenitna, England and Netherlands)

AND the same in the Multiplayer mode would be great..

The ability to create a custom Season should be given in addition to this. (then at least we can have a worthington cup in England which has four cups. And creat South American clubtournaments, and if you do design this, let it be possible to CHOOSE MORE THAN ONE TEAM and not necessarily from the same league either.

2. Enable the ability to play any/all fixture list games as in FIFA99

3. Fix the formations bug.

4. Multiplayer is slow, so put back IGM system (and this time allow the starting lin-up of each IGM to be programmed, i.e. not one starting lineup arrangement for the three, b/c this makes the computer re-arrange the players on the field, and that is seldom to a players likeing as he has to backk into the game to re-arrange the positionong, and introduce hot key substitution (by this I mean, to subsitute a payer we could say press or hold down the shift key the type the 2 digit number of the player to come-off followed by the 2-digit number to come off) this in addition to FIFA assistant will enable us to make tactical substitution and add an extra detail (i.e. have the gamers learn a bit more about their team or at least the excitement, of being fixed to one team(you would make a fan out of the casual player.)

We would like to see the return of offside trap, 2on1 defending, and setpices 1-3 preferable weith an option to pre-build/or program our custom setpiece arangement (say a slot for 6) same goes for IGM, but we understand that the AI written may change quite a bit to warrant a patch for that.

5. Patch the buggy card and goals scored in season, and arrange them per competition you can make it a slide (the same way viewing goals and cards is currently or goals and goals per team...you make and extra slide that will have Season, Cup competition, European, then useres can use the other slide to view goals scored, cards given etc. That will fix that bug no problem.


Well guys, this might be a bit wordy, but my guess with all this seems reasonable within a patch (maybe except for the setpieces section but I did state.) Its quite easy to program in, and easy to debug...whiles changes to the AI (will take longer to test out and de-bug)

Someof you have some good ideas, post them anyway, who knows what they can do...although I doubt they would add more teams..but its worth presenting...

I don'tknow when the moderators, will pipe this list to them. BUt I hope they choose which suggestions they pick to send sensibly. I hope my five here, have given a suggestion, and also a means/method of carrying out, EA don't have to figure out in what way they gonna do it, at least I have provided a short overview.

To the rest of ya, keep em comin, but keep em sensible, alot of requests thus far, are issues that EA has included in the game or that can be resloved and have been discussed a lot on this forum, read other posts to fin dout, they aren't patch suggestions b/c there is nothing to patch there.

And to the others who think it is a waste of time, well you have your right to say, but I think you are hoping that by not saying it, it would happne. Be positive, cause you discourage other people, its their right to try , and their right to make suggestions. and as I said, someone would read every request sent forward to EA, even if its just to delete, it is read, its not any ones position here to say what would be heard or not, unless you are a decision maker at EA production.

One last thing, keep calm, be coool, its only a game, stoke up your wrath (not in self-righteousness I must add) against important issues like senseless violence, cheats and bullies. For video games enjoy, and if you have an opputnity to contribute to a positive change, go for it.

Fifa 98 options with Fifa 2002 graphics might be coo! anyway...

Suggestions:

1) Multiuser teams.

2) Formation issue - dont want Giggs playing sweeper!

3) Controller issues - reaction timing, button assignments, etc, its would be nice to have my human player react within 5 seconds...

4) Brainless defenders - eg. computer hits long ball every time, yet your defenders never figure it out. On corners, your computer controlled defenders just stand there taking pictures of the other team heading the ball into the goal.

5) Game difficulty is like this. Amateur = you win 7-1 every time. Professional = its a matter of scoring more goals than the computer decides to score, usually you tie 3-3 or lose 4-3. WC = havent played it yet so dont know, imagine its like professional but nearly impossible to score. The computer should not score from impossible situations - like from 45 yards out every game, or on nearly EVERY corner since your defenders are bird watching. Yes it should be possible to score amazing goals but give it only 1% or so, not 75%.

6) Audio: crowd noise - more and louder singing, whistling, chanting, drums and other noise makers, crowd should reflect what goes on in the game too.

7) Visual: More weather and stadium options - eg. Fifa 98. The option for fireworks and confetti would be cool...

8) Ball physics - eg. ball goes higher than the stadium and stays in the air like its a balloon, etc...

9) Multilanguage commentary.

10) Panoramic camera - sometimes doesnt move to the play quick enough.

Heading etc.

Guys, for those of you that are having trouble heading, you've gotta hold down the button you're going to use to head. ie. If their goalie has kicked out a high ball, I just hold down S and I usually win it.

This is a bug in itself though, cause when the computer kicks a lob into the corner for its sweeper, and you're there holding D to clear it, your defender stands there looking stupid while the sweeper gets a good run.

Even more annoying is that you can ONLY head AWAY, normally to an opposition player. The CPU has the ability to head to itself and continue to play on. VERY annoying. Now days I intentionally loose any heading duel and simply takle after the CPU has it.

And finally, the Tower camera is VERY slow chasing the ball along the near side wing, and often gets caught up behind some of the stadium trusses. How can we play a game when you can't see whats on the pitch.

By the way, I do love the game, I just bough ISS, but I actually enjoy playing 2001 more than 2002 against friends. Even with the stuffed ref in it, it just seems more desperate.

- Linesman are in the wrong side. Swap their side.
- PowerBar use for air ball control (like heading and volley shot)
- Reinsert Training
- Reinsert Penalty Shot Match
- Reinsert IGM formation (using F11 and F12 from Keyboard to switch formation for Home and Away team)
- Reinsert MULTIPLAYER Custom Season/Cup (we wanna play our custom/season cup with friends on the same PC)
- Reinsert the choice of wheater, time lenght, stadium before start the match (after controller selection)
- Reinsert initial TOSS (Head/Tails choice, who win, choice the side, the other kick off the ball first)

- Do not remove ANY fetures present on Fifa 2002!!!

Notice that the 85% of the "Todo", are things that are already present in previous Fifa Series.
Reinsert these features will take about 1 hour of work... If need, i may do it for you.

skotj1979, I forgot about the heading problem. What makes the computer successful with the tactic of ONLY playing LONG air balls, is the fact that they can actually win the air challenge AND keep the ball. What usually happens is the computer attacker and the human defender both go up for the challenge....with his back to you, the computer knocks your defender on his ass, heads the ball a meter behind you, keeps his balance, and screws your girl simultaneously, then dribbles a few and rips an upper 90 shot past your keeper from 40 meters out. We all know how difficult it is for a forward to win an air ball with his back to the goal AND keep possession.

To make things worse...there is NO way in heck you could do the same thing to the computer. IF the computer decides you should win an airball up front, the only thing you can do is flick it on, in turn it just goes to the keeper or defender. Occasionally the computer will miss the header and if you happen not to for the header (or the control doesnt work, which usually happens to me), you'll bring it down nicely with your chest.

Patch suggestions

IGM must come back into FIFA 2002.

The goalkeeping error in which you can score from half way up the field should also be addressed.

And can someone please tell me what this ball shooting bug is??
I think the shooting is fine in this version. What is wrong with the ball physics??
