You people are very SAD, you are like little boys begging for free candy when you know you are not gonna get it. Last year was the same, and I suspect that EA will play wih you little boys for a very long time. I mean why shouldn't they? they are definetly getting away with it year after year.

Anyway good luck with the begging.

How about some skill moves?
the ones on the game even if well excuted are not very effective against a good human player? I dont understand why the best part of the game was removed. the game is almost perfect with the new improvements, I just miss my skill moves.

To the developers or whoever is in charge: next time put something on the box stating the changes. I was surprised with the quality of the game but dissapointed with the lack of skill moves.
Don't know if I would have bought the game if I knew what I know now.

ok, just my 2 cents

pass back to keeper

definately the pass back to keeper must be fixed. we should be able to pass to the keeper more easliy without worring about the keeper letting the ball go into the net.

So much to add...

My little list:

- They have a folder called TRAINING. Did they simply forget to link it?
- Theres a really strange bug thats happened a few times to me where they ball will disappear from the players foot and go out of bounds... wierd but hard to replicate.
- When kicking a long lob when right on the wings (using keyboard), they ball ALWAYS goes out, even if there is a guy in front.
- Hitting the post.
- AI isn't agressive enough
- Able to play the world cup after you qualify.
- Multi player tournaments (on the one computer)
- The amount a stuffing around the AI defense does.

And an ehnancement request:
- Have a season mode similar to "RTWC" when playing France etc. where you have to raise the countries ranking up to a certain level (like Australia is going to do when it wins the World Cup!!! - ok, maybe we should just qualify first!!)

My memory could fail me, but I don't think EA has ever released a patch to address gameplay issues in FIFA - they've only been to fix video card incompatibilites, etc. And judging by the response in one of the threads here where they told some guy asking about a bug fix "that's the way we make the game - if you don't like it return it to...." I wouldn't get my hopes up for any substantial changes in a patch.

To Berkamp 16,

I knew someone would come barging into me with something like that. You might know nuts about gridiron football. I have watched and played football since I was nine and I am very certain I know my football. You mentioned that I had not played ISS. Well, I have played both ISS PE 1 and 2 and for your information, give away ISS PE 1 away after I bought PE 2.

I do not intend to start an argument. I am a working professional in my late thirties and I played computer games only for recreation. I have better things in life to do than to go around arguing with people which game is superior than the other. Sad to see people like you doing this. The world would be a lot more peaceful if we have less people who are less extreme.

The reason I post this thread is to tell you little boys to stop arguing over this trivial things. It truly tickles me when I read this forum. So, grow up boys.

Oh my God, are you still playing that stinker of a game?
Here are a few hints:

Change the CPU goalkeeper from Superman to just human.

Change the human goalkeeper from Homer Simpson with zero eyesight and heavy brain damage to anything remotely human.

Make either all players solid or insolid, not just solid CPU players.

Try to have the CPU keeper score less from goal kicks (yes, he friggin' does)

Make a basic study of the offside rule.

Try to make the CPU score less from it's own half.

Have both CPU and human player perform the same moves.

Stop adding fancy things like weight and height and footedness if you're not going to use it in the game.

Stop your misleading and criminal info- and ad campaign if you're not going to deliver.

Make human players react withing 5 seconds of using the controls.

And finally, if it's not too much to ask: retreat from the football gaming scene and hand over the market to Konami, who actually put an effort into making a game. Go make a Cheerleading game or whatever it is they do over there.
Just stop polluting the market with overpriced crap and phoney extatic reviews that are supposed to make the ignorant buy
the same pile of rubbish every year.
If someone thinks I could be sued for saying EA are frauds, I'd be more than happy to supply them with my adress.

I'm off to my PS2 for a nice game of TIF 2002!

Cheers,

King Kenny.

someone else made this point.....

1)it is really only fun to play the PC at AM level. When you play the PC at Pro and world class all the AI does is dump and chase the ball into the corners.

2) Why can't the players on the bench have track suits that match the team, they look like loosers wearing all black doing their dumb streches

I would like to see an EXTRA CLOCK that counts down or up for injury time.

looking at 90:00 for any giving time is frustrating.

I've noticed that there are so many requests that I think EA will need to release an entirely new game, this will basically be 2003 with all the things some people want.

nice review i´m with you men.

EA take note

Firstly, the game isn't that bad really, it's quite fun but:-

Things that can be solved in a patch:-

  1. Put squad names on shirts
  2. Make keeper overarm throws reach the halfway line (as i understand it, if you stand still and throw, you roll it, but if you are running to the edge of the box, it's overarm, is this right??)
  3. Put numbers on shorts
  4. Do something with penalties, only having a choice of left right or centre is crap, at the very least give us back the 2001 system.
  5. Solve the controller auto 1-2 problem (by disabling all axis except x and y)
  6. Solve the mapping of buttons for multiple controllers on one system problem
  7. Solve the formations bugs
  8. Make players tire quicker (so they get to about 80% after 90 mins unless you do some stupid runs)
  9. Stop the computers through balls being perfect every time
  10. Make the assistant refs flag the right way on throw-ins
  11. Remove limit on creation centre things
Things that might be possible in a patch:-
    1. Make a new skill thing so that when you hold skill button and press pass/lob/shoot the player crosses his legs to kick it (very common move in football recently)
    2. Make small improvements to AI and Ball Physics
    3. Give bench people a training kit based on team colours.
Things do be done for the next release:-

All of the above that don't make a patch and:-
      1. Revamp AI, i.e. give a wider range of tactics, and make teams actually play differently to each other.
      2. Add actual keeper kits per team as well as home and away kits
      3. Add more stadiums (and remove wembley, no-one will ever play there again (at least not in the current stadium))
      4. Add the indoor 5-a-side stadium
      5. Return the offside and pressing tactics and set piece routines
      6. Improve keepers drastically
      7. Finally, offer me a job as a consultant on the game, for which I would expect an obscene wage and a low work load ;) :D ;) :D
I've just sent the following email to my contact at EA Sports. Hopefully they'll be able to include some of your points in the patch, if not, atleast in World Cup 2002.

The email read:

"There has been plenty of good feedback in response to the news about the upcoming patch you're planning. Check out:

http://www.soccergaming.tv/showthread.php?s=&postid=153265#post153265

Do you have any further details on what you expect it to include and when it will be released?"

I'll let you know when I get a reply.

If the patch is due for release then nothing said here is gonna matter.

It'll probably fix some video card issues & minor gameplay flaws ea deem worthy of fixing...much like any other patch they've ever released for fifa.

How come madden/NHL/tiger all get regular roster updates & stats? in the case of tiger completely new courses are released post game:<

EA are sucky
