i talked about Maciel cause he was more on Alan's standards. As for Derlei, anyone plays well with Mourinho.

this porto reminds me of benfica 94-95 / 95-96 getting rid of a winning team and then buying everyone they can without success.

All these players coming will have a chance to prove themselves to Co and us, the fans.
Co is the guy who will make our team play good, average, or bad football.
So I'll have to wait for the season to start, see them perform, and then trash-talk them if needed, or praise them if they deserve it....

A good coach always makes the difference, it's his job to take the best out of each player he has and put it together to make a strong, solid team.
And with all the talent available on the club, I believe Adriaanse can do it (Y)

I wasn't relating those two sentences, because it's a bit different to compare Derlei to Maciel, or Alan to Maciel.
Has he said, Alan is on the same level of Maciel, now. But we'll see if he can turn into a Derlei, Maciel has not taken his chance.

I think he has proven himself enough to not let people doubt about his class ever again.

And come on, Derlei was already a proven player. Just check his stats in Leiria. I posted the best scorers' list about 2 weeks ago and he got top 3 in one of his seasons playing for Leiria. Anyone seen Maciel or Alan reach that status?

Benni is a top striker and we need him, especially if we want to have a word in the CL this year.
Having said that, I think he'll leave. Looking at the past year's experience, PdC and Company didn't look back on cashing in when a good offer was made. Besides, Co wants 2 choices for every position in the field; lets see, our strikers are Lisandro, Postiga, Hugo Almeida, Bruno Moraes and, of course, Benni. It's likely that Hugo Almeida and Moraes get loaned again, which leaves 3 blokes for 2 chairs... :S

I remember when I first saw Pepe playing for FCP in those friendly games in North America last summer he actually looked really solid.
