Why the hell is Moutinho on the right and Guarín on the left? Did he swap them just so people notice we have a new manager? I don't know if I mentioned this already, I don't like Vitor Pereira.

Piqué's injured and will miss the european supercup, Puyol as well, but don't suck your cocks already, we still have Masche - Abidal.

good news for us I guess, that CB duo is definitely exploitable...at least on paper.

--------------Helton-------------
Sapunaru-Otamendí-Rolando-Fucile
--------------Souza--------------
--Guarín---------------Moutinho--
-------------Belluschi------------
-------Kleber---------Hulk-------

that would be my starting 11 for Friday, considering that everyone stays fit...Varela is out of form and having the extra man in the midfield will be useful to handle the likes of Xavi and Iniesta.

Not bad, would be a decent idea to pack the midfield.

Speaking of a team, what's the deal with Fernando and Palito, then?

really puzzled about the Fernando situation...it seemed so clear that he was as good as gone by the end of last season, now things are so quiet around him that I just don't know what to think anymore. although Souza is doing well enough in the DM spot, the truth is that "the octopus" is a clear starter in normal conditions.

about Palito, I believe Libras-Boas will snatch him from us sooner or later:

Sky Sports sources understand that Chelsea have made a bid for Porto midfielder Alvaro Pereira.

Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas worked with the 25-year-old Uruguay international before he joined the Premier League side this summer.

But it is now believed that Pereira could be following his former coach to Stamford Bridge, with the London club looking to replace Yuri Zhirkov who has joined Russian outfit FC Anzhi Makhachkala.

Pereira would fill that void after gaining a reputation as a highly rated wing-back.

Chelsea are the highest spenders of all 20 Premier League clubs this summer, with Juan Mata the latest signing, joining from Valencia for £26m.

Pereira began his career in Uruguay with Miremar Misiones and spent time at Quilmes and Argentinos Juniors before moving to Europe to play for Romanian side CFR Cluj.

He made the move to Porto in 2009 and played a significant part in their treble winning side under Villas-Boas last year.

It is understood that Pereira has a £25m release clause.

There's no point in us getting Perreira, because we have backup for Cole in PVA and Bertrand and we have cover for the left wing as well. It just sounds like leftover rumours from before the Mata deals. We have bigger fish to fry, I'd be more worried about Rolando or Hulk frankly (although maybe not in the current window).

well, he's not even in the squad for the Barcelona match so I reckon he is definitely leaving...for which team is what remains to be seen.

Not really, you better focus on try to hurt us in dead balls.

Well, seeing as I'm not too worried about the Supercup tomorrow, I was checking the CL group phase draw which takes place today.

We can actually get a "perfect storm" of AC Milan, Manchester City and Dortmund.

Ahahahah (H)

That is gold.

Anyway everyone expects Barça to win, so you guys really have nothing to lose. I won't be that surprised if you actually can get a decent result, that would be good for Portuguese football.

(opposed to yet another pathetic [but amusing] performance from Sporting today (H))

Fresh, good news: we have activated the clause concerning the option to buy the other 50% of Otamendí's rights for another €4M, so now he is 100% Dragão (H)

game against Leiria tonight, time to get another 3 points and return to the top of the league.
Hulk will probably be starting dispite having played this Monday for the brazilian NT, and there are a few usual starters not being able to play due to their NT compromises like Otamendí, Guarín and Sapunaru...considering all that, this would be my line-up:

----------Helton-----------
Fucile-Maicon-Rolando-Palito
----------Souza-----------
---Belluschi--Moutinho-----
Hulk------------------James
---------Kleber------------

that will do...dá-lhe PORTO!

He's starting the 4th consecutive season with us and I can tell you that he has massively improved since he got here, and nowadays he is a solid starter for our RB spot.

He is a discrete side-back. Doesn't go out much in attack, but considering that he usually has Hulk ahead of him on the field, he doesn't really need too...he is able to provide a decent support for the wingers though, dispite being kind of slow.

Defensively he's extremely reliable.
Very aware and has improved a lot when it comes to discernment, as he used to be a bit mistake-prone. Guess he lacked confidence, and it showed. Once he started playing more regularly his game went on to a different level and even his attitude these days is an example for any Porto player.
He is a passionate guy who loves this club and he likes to show it...and we love him for that (H)

******* legend (H)

Sapunaru is the best. He has all the spirit of a true Porto player.

Here is another video of him, chanting an anti benfica song.

Hope for a victory today to go back to the lead.:33vff3o:
