Good grief, apparently City are in for F9T this summer with the rumor being 60 million pounds. It will be difficult for Pool to turn down that kind of cash. This according to ESPN by the way.

I've liked what little I've seen of Balotelli. Just because he's handed in a request, doesn't mean he want's to come to us though.

Speaking of transfers, today's name is Gareth Bale. I would assume he'd be a left winger for us, because I can't see Patrice Evra being stood down. He looks a really good player and I think he'd suit us. I know Fergie tried to get him from Southampton (but Bale felt he'd get more time at Spurs)

Question is, how much will Spurs want? £20M is being mentioned in the papers.

That's idiotic, you could probably get Di Maria for that price.

Bale has been brilliant of late at the LW position and he's EPL proven unlike Di Maria. He's younger as well (20 years vs 22 years) I'd still prefer Di Maria since he's a natural LW whereas Bale is an LB.

Help?

I don't think we need either. Nani has really stepped up finally and I think neither Bale nor Di Maria would be able to displace him. And those two would want some first team football i'm guessing. I'd rather spend the cash on a forward.

Yeah priority should definitely be an ST and an AM. But we don't have any natural left footed winger in our team and Nani is very inconsistent. I'd rather have him on the right side as well rather than left. We could rotate between Nani, Valencia, Park and whoever comes in. If Tosic gets more chances at United and impresses next season, we might not need neither of Bale nor Di Maria. He's been a beast at Cologne and Serbia.

Yea I have no idea why SAF does not even consider tosic to be on the bench. Its crazy because he's in the serbian national team but nowhere near the first team of manutd. Maybe SAF thinks he is abit lightweight for the EPL. I am not surprised tosic wants to remain at cologne.

As for Di Maria..I havent seen of enough of him to be honest. Is he really that good? But I agree we do not have a natural left-winger in our squad. Nani is more effective on the right. But the priority should be A striker and a creative midfielder.

I don't understand why Ferguson choses someone like Obertan rather than Tosic. Its clear that Obertan is not ready to play for us. He's nervous everytime he comes in. He needs some time in the reserves or he needs to go somewhere on loan in a lower league.

Tosic is more experienced, and better than Obertan. And Tosic is not really lightweight. His weight is the same as Giggs but he's shorter, so that should give him more stability than Giggs. His BMI is 23.2 compared to Giggs' BMI which is 20.7. We paid him 7 millions and paying him a relatively big salary. Why don't we use him?

I'm not worried about the long-term, we have Macheda, Welbeck and Diouf for the long-term, as well as the new Mexican kid.

I'm worried about the short-term. Fabiano would be nice I suppose but if we are willing to buy a striker of that age it should be Villa obviously.

Fergie has destroyed the rumours about his future. He said the only thing that will stop him would be his health, and apparently he's "rudely healthy" at the moment!

Well there's a huge difference, Fabiano would be for free, and well for Villa, clubs such as Barca and Real couldn't even get him out of the clutches from Valencia with 40 mln

I must have misread the article...I thought it said Fabiano's contract would be up NEXT summer, not THIS summer.

If he's a free transfer this year, absolutely, I'm all for him coming to United.

I just reviewed the article on ESPN and according to it, Fabiano is out of contract 'at the end of NEXT season' so he wouldn't be free.

The article goes on to say that he is thought to be valued at 15 million pounds.

My bad....well still he would cost cheaper as the risk to wait for an huge offer would let clubs wait till next year were they would be allowed to offer him a pre-contract, 15 mln would be too much

Well, he is one of many players whose fortunes could rise dramatically if he has a good World Cup.

Say Brazil go deep into the tournament and Fabiano gets 4 or 5 goals, a lot of clubs will probably come calling and Sevilla will see it as a chance to get something for him now rather than nothing for him next summer, maybe they will get 15-20 million out of him.

Fabiano is 30, please forget about him.

I think we need an attacking midfielder who can play as supporting forward as well so Fergie can use him for Big/European matches as well. Someone like David Silva or Gourcoff. Do you think Nani can play in that position, at least he won't cross anymore, and he will have more space for shooting.

About today, I hope we beat spurs and put pressure on Chelsea.
C'mon United.

We already have a player who can play that role: Anderson! During his Porto time he played in a more supporting role. He has even played in that role for us, he gets the more attacking role in a 4-3-3....remember him and Nani against Arsenal in the Carling Cup, when we trashed them....Anderson played in that role
