5-match ban is pushing it too far. there was nothing serious in it, 3 at worst. That bolton guy should be banned as well for play-acting. He even manages a glance to the sideline just before he grasps his face in 'agony'. what a tosser.

The only thing that is keeping us going with ruud missing is the form of scholes and giggs.. they are creating/scoring most of the goals we get..., we will miss rooney yes but we could now go to a (if he does get 3 match ban) 4-5-1 with ronaldo and giggs wide.. joining in the attack.. giving them more freedom.. keano holding with scholes and fletch in the middle.

The Bolton cheat definitely dives after saying something to Wayne. He was playing for Wayne to get red carded - no doubt. :kader:

Wayne Rooney is a good player. Why does he do something like this? So stupid!

Would anyone here mind if Manchester United sold Mikael Silvestre in the summer because I for one would not mind in the slightest. Rio Ferdinand deserves a much better partner and one that doesn't have too many lapses in concentration. All players make the odd mistakes, but alien-head makes atleast one mistake in every game with those lapses of concentration he has and its beggining to bother me. There is a rumour going around that his wife or girlfriend is unhappy here in England and wants to go back to France and United are also being linked with a summer move for Fiorentina's Czech International defender Tomas Ujfalusi.

Help?

Because he is top class player and any team would want him to get sent off, because that guy was provoking him for the whole game which is one of Sam's plans to get other players off the field and because Rooney is very young and he does not understand what these kind of things can lead too, but Fergie will tell him. I bet Rooney will never even think of putting his arm up on the field again.

Whether Rooney was provoked or not does not matter. The bottom line is that the England international should have done much better in that situation. He should know better.

When that happened I was wishing that the referee will turn around and give Wayne a yellow card so that would be that, but since the officials did not see it, the FA will review it and charge Rooney with violent conduct, which can carry a 3-match ban.

With United's strikeforce depleted already, this is what we don't need.

As for Silvestre, I can understand the comment. He does have concentration lapses, a bit like Rio Ferdinand during the beginning of his career. However, I still think the partnership of Silvestre/Rio works well. The stats speak for themselves. If the worst comes of it, we still have Wes Brown, O'Shea and Heinze to call upon to play alongside Rio.

I wouldn't mind Silvestre leaving , Rio carries the guy nearly every game , and without Rio , Silvestre is hopeless ,as he showed when rio was banned and with his performances for France. Our defence would be great if we had a another defender of a similar skill level to Rio.

But it's not hard to find someone who is better than Silvestre. Rio makes Silvestre look like one of the best. Today Nolan almost punished Silvestre only thank god to Roy Carroll who came out right on time, because that was one crap slip by Mikael.

as per the official fa rules under the special man utd act, rooney is bound to get nothing less than a 3 match ban, whereas some other player would get a 1match ban.

Tal is a c***,but rooney should always keep in mind the way man utd gets treated under the fa and then act.
we have to use Gandhiji's Satyagraha a.k.a non-violence.

Rooney Waits for FA Verdict after Bolton Fracas

By Simon Stone, PA Sport

Wayne Rooney will have to wait until Wednesday at the earliest to find out if he faces punishment for shoving Tal Ben Haim in the face at Old Trafford yesterday.

Rival bosses Sir Alex Ferguson and Sam Allardyce held contrasting views on the incident, with the United boss claiming the Bolton defender’s reaction was ‘an embarrassment’.

Allardyce agreed Ben Haim’s theatrical dive was over the top, but claimed contact had definitely been made – a view backed up by TV replays – and Rooney was fortunate to escape dismissal.

Referee Dermot Gallagher appeared to miss the incident and did not even award a free-kick against the United man, who was reacting to allegations from Ben Haim that he had dived attempting to win a free-kick.

Gallagher will make his observations known to the Football Association in his report of the game, but it will not be reviewed by Soho Square officials until Wednesday.

It means Rooney will be free to face Aston Villa tomorrow night but, if a violent conduct charge is brought, could miss the New Year’s Day trip to Middlesbrough.

Ferguson has already found himself on the wrong end of video evidence this season, losing Ruud van Nistelrooy for three games following the Dutchman’s lunge on Ashley Cole at Old Trafford earlier in the season.

And with van Nistelrooy sidelined for two months and Louis Saha out until the middle of January at the earliest, Ferguson cannot afford to lose another striker from his squad.
