The biggest and most respected sports paper in Mexico is reporting that the deal to bring Blanco to Chicago is done, He will arrive in Chicago on Monday and be presented by the team on Tuesday. You have no idea how much division the Blanco rumors have created amongst Chicago Fire fans. Half seem to hate the idea of signing him, the other half love it. I don't fall into either of the two camps, but I'm leaning towards the latter. The lack of good signings in the offseason has been appalling, and we can use all the help we can get. I don't care if he's old, past-his-prime, whiny, petulent, annoying, detrimental to team chemistry, plays dirty, not worth his price tag, eats puppies for breakfast, etc. He's still a quality player, and he can help us win. Not to mention he'll raise interest in the club, and MLS in general.

That is a great Idea by MLS! Adds more flare to the regular season and really gives middle table teams a good reason to play hard!

here in chile rumors say that red bull new york is interested on Marcelo Salas. And that he has until thursday to give an answer to the RBNY proposition, the problem would be that salas wants a contract until june (cause he wants to play un chile), and RBNY offers him a full year.

Another good player to MLS...
KC Wizards have signed Argentinian midfielder Carlos Marinelli. He's had experience with Boca Juniors, Torino, and Middlesborough. He also had a short stint with Braga in Portugal back in 05/06 which is where I'm more familiar with him from. Admittedly I only saw him play about 2-3 times but he did make a great impression from what I remember.
I also remember when Braga first signed him I'd read in a newspaper how he was very promising as a junior and was even called "the next Maradona" by some ...but seeing how next Maradona's seem to be a dime-a-dozen these days, I'd take that comment with a grain of salt.
