yeah i agree on all those points but he says "he isnt required" so oshea and fletcher are better then him are they?ladylover said:Yeah, you can't jump to conclusions like that, it is fair enough IMO. Maybe Mascherano isn't the type of player SAF was looking for. Maybe the first time MSI offered him to us they wanted a ridiculous amount of money for him and the loan deal smells fishy to me, it was clearly going to be on MSI's terms and I think that it was a good move by rejecting it (it isn't our policy anyway by loaning star players), maybe we could have had problems at the end. And as I said a few weeks ago spending this huge amount of money on Mascherano is a risk which we can't take atm. we need a good established proven player and I believe that Hargreaves is that player. Maybe SAF and co. decided to keep the remaining budget and try it again in January instead of spending it on the last day of the transferwindow

Man Utd rejected Mascherano offer
Mascherano played for Argentina in the 2006 World Cup
Manchester United turned down the opportunity to sign Argentine midfielder Javier Mascherano on two occasions during the summer.
On Thursday Mascherano, 22, along with striker Carlos Tevez, 22, signed for West Ham from Corinthians of Brazil on permanent deals for undisclosed fees.
"We were never interested in Tevez," United chief executive David Gill told BBC Five Live's Sportsweek programme.
"We were also offered Mascherano but we didn't want to go for him."
Gill added: "We were offered Mascherano for a significant sum at the start of the summer and also last week on a loan deal.
"We had watched him last season but the manager and his staff didn't want to pursue him.
"While he is clearly a very good player it was decided he wasn't required at the club."

That's right, even Ashley knows who's better.Fernandez said:How do you know it is 20 million?
btw, read that Arsenal were preparing to offer us Ashley Cole. But the player rejected the move because of Heinze.

They are gambling that they can get the club. If they cant, then they will probably be off soon enough, but I think West Ham are going to find themselves suddenly very rich within the month
