Any last words...anybody? :(

I know it's not the most appealing match-up but it's still the WS, and what Ozzie Guillen has done is just incredible. I certainly feel some pride in him (sooner/later) becoming the first Latino manager to win a WS.

Ozzie Guillen = LEGEND

Edit: Ozzie's son called the HR by Blum, and in the replays you can see his son laughing and poiting at his dad. :fool:

haha, where are all the Cubs fans right now? :D

Congrats to the Sox, they were just too good; that, and the fact that Houston couldn't drive anyone in even if their lives depended on it.

God, I was so busy this year, that I got to see about 7 innings of the whole world series. But I have to admit, my lack of attachment to either team, and my east coast/west coast bias played a big part in my ambivalance.

But that takes nothing away from what the White Sox have achieved. Ozzie Guillen has been there two years, made excellent moves, their staff is young and loaded, and the style of baseball he plays is both effective and somewhat exciting. Excellent manager, excellent team, and I hope thier success continues. Now if only their fans could learn a thing or two about :nape: Did everyone hear about the latest incident? Add to the assult on Gamboa and Laz Diaz the slapping by a male fan of Craig Biggio's wife. Seriously, some of their fans must be true scum

Where are all the talks about Houston been better in this forum ? (H)

I was and still bias and also i was right, chicago white sox your world series champions :rockman:

I haven't post because of hurricane wilma, but im here to tell you guys that Guillen is a hell of a manager, not scared to play aggresive baseball and to leave the pitchers do their job.

Oh and what a job he did leaving Freddy Garcia to the final game, so a venezuelan manager plus a venezuelan pitcher getting the win ? it couldn't gone any bette :chew:

No one can save this team, it'll be a year or two before they can fix or improve on what DePodesta did. I'll give him this though, our farm system hasn't been as good as it is right now in a while. We'll see what happens soon as to who will replace him, a decision needs to be made soon.

I suppose that was directed at me. With the playoffs being unpredictable and my lack of care for it this year, I have an excuse. Anyway, congrats to the Venezuelans.

Oh yeah, damn DePodesta, if it wasn't for him, Edwin Carlos*son wouldn't have blown his arm out!

I'd get a kick out of Gammon's take on this story, but I don't have an insider. Anyone care to share us some good journalism?

What, you think I'm blaming him for that? Sorry if I'm a little slow right now, its pretty late. His whole "Moneyball" philosophy just didn't work out this season. Granted, considering how many injuries we had, we were never able to see just how good this team was. I honestly don't think it possibly could have been much better than it was this past season and it was time for a change, even if it was made pretty hastily.

Actually it isn't a very good article and doesn't really even focus on anything, including DePodesta and his firing.

Theo Epstein was offered the GM position at the LA Dogders with the option of having a piece of their shares. :ewan:

The guy's smart so I would expect him to stay as far away from here as possible. He won't have nearly the budget he had in Boston available to him so it'll be hard to bring in some talented, high-priced guys like he did there. Honestly, who ever gets hired is in for a tough time, no matter how qualified that person may be.

Papi and Damon weren't high priced in the way Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling were high priced. Plus he brought in guys like Roberts and Cabrera, so he makes solid trades.
