I bought NBA 2k12 this morning. It's pretty awesome.

Only had a couple of hours to play it and I wasted most of trying to customize my player. You can customize just about everything.

Anyway, I was the best player of the Rookie Challenge, so I brought my stock up pretty high.

There are team GMs that interview you, so you have a bit of control where you want to be drafted. I ended up being interviewed by the Warriors, Bucks, Suns and Jazz.

I play PG, so I told the Bucks, Warriors and Suns to **** off.
On the draft board it listed as weakness: delusional about one's ability... has a big ego. Hahahaha.

Ended up going 12th to the Jazz. Gotta take Devin Harris' starting spot as the number 1 objective.

Just a quick question for you NBA connoisseurs, basically due to the lockout the teams are the same as last year's?

yes, since the rookies can't be put in the game. I guess when the lockout ends (laughs) they will be included via an update.

Yeah, the current rookies are generic, but honestly it is easily overlooked. It'll be interesting to see how they'll incorporate the real rookies if the lockout ever ends.

Haha I created a 7'2 version of myself... told the Warriors to go away and told the Jazz to trade Favors and keep me to play with Al Jeff...

Ended up getting picked by the Suns and fighting for a spot behind Gortat. Didn't take long for me to become a starter

Actually the big thing about NBA 2k12 is that they got all the legends in the game, so there is a very large possibility that he is. Jordan's in, Bird, Magic; the only one they couldn't get was Barkley who still has some time to run on a video game licensing agreement he signed who knows how long ago. Ewing was on the Dream Team though, so I bet he's in.

Fun thing about 2k is playing against mates, i get bored playing against CPU, maybe because i like Basket but not huge fan of it.

I'm getting my ass handed to me constantly on FIFA, a break is in order.

I'm leaning heavily to getting Arkham City, next week or so, it looks like it is worth the hype. those F1 pictures look awesome, I get bored of 2K easily...

decided to take on the Nantes manager challenge on PC:

made 4 signings, and made 'em count:

Aréola, Aurier, Nampalys Mendy, and Eden's brother Thorgan Hazard ... missed out on Yaya Sanogo ... all tipped (irl) to be stars of the future ...

gonna sim most/all matches ... surely I can make promotion ...

Only game I'm playing is Fifa and on manager mode.

I'm playing with Lorient FC. I'm on my second season...

nice job Skip ... with the release of FM 12 and the ensuing database updates (to correct release database oversights) a little ways away, the idea of Manager Mode in FIFA is starting to appeal, especially in France where there's always tons of extremely talented youngsters to pick off ...

when I started out exploring the world of European football, I always enjoyed watching Nantes in the Champions League (back in the Japhet N'Doram era) ...

add the fact that they're now in Ligue 2, and have 3 kits in-game, there's little missing in terms of sporting motivation and gaming aesthetics ...

Haha. If you were smarter (like me), you could play FM11 and download an up to date roster instead of playing manager mode on Fifa 2012 and sim all games. Don't think Fifa's sim mode would be as accurate as FM because Fifa is not designed for that. FM is.

Interesting. I'll have to look into it. It would be pimp if it goes with the draft on my player mode. I might have to restart it if that's the case.

I'm about 10 games in and I SUCK. I play on superstar and simulation. I don't think the coach trusts me cause I barely get minutes in the second half. Getting your grade up is much tougher this year. I'm averaging about 8 points a game about 1 rebound a game and I cantt get assists to save my life. While Devin Harris is tearing it up... I might have to ask for a a trade if I can't beat him to the starting spot by the trade deadline.

I made a 6'7 PG version of myself, and on NBA 2k11 I started playing on hall of fame cause I was scoring like 40-50 points a game. Not on 2k12... I made a living off intercepting passes for easy scores and getting rebounds. I definitely gotta improve my stats and adjust to the game, but it's super realistic. Really enjoying it so far.

I said "most/all", so I may play one or two big games ... but as I've said numerous times in the "Bored" thread, it's been a couple of years since I lost interest in playing offline against AI ... and as I quoted in my last post in this thread, I won't be playing FM 12 as soon as it releases ... so this exercise fills that football management vacuum, and also allows me to see just how FIFA's manager mode has evolved since 2008 ...
