Germany has a really sucky defense.

Doesn't they'll be World Champions very lucky anyway, as always. :(

Don't know what to say, I desperately want Germany to make the semis but I just can't see it happening atm. Well you certainly can't call the Germans boring after that, but the defence oh the defence. I think they would do well to look at a few of those old retired German defenders who walked out during the opening ceremony, there's no way they can fare any worse than the current bunch.

Yeah the goalie can't be blamed..it's the two German CBs that looked shaky. Great goal from Frings and I though Schneider had a very good game.

I wouldn't worry too much about the defence, it's only the first match. There is a lot of nerves and plus they are forced to win since they are the home country. I think they will improve their defence and make adjustments as needed.

That was beautiful attacking football from Germany. I'm not sure why but Costa Rica did not exploit the German defense as much as they should have, I mean the two times they went forward seriously they ended up scoring both times. Germany should of scored more, were the Costa Rican defenders even on the pitch? Just terrible defending from both teams really. Germany needs to fix that or they'll get killed in the later rounds of this tournament against better and more courageous teams.

Great game though, very enjoyable (Y)

How were they lucky? they dominated possession and scoring chances, how much of the game was played in the Costa Rican half? For a while it looked like the Germans might be held for an undeserved draw despite CR having only 3 or 4 attempts at goal. Now that would've been very much unlike the Germans.

Some people here is majorly upset 'cuz of Redondo's commercial for Mexico.

Now regarding the match, what an excellent goal of Frings, amazing. Now Germany needs to work on the defense, and marking on the set pieces, or else they will pretty much owned after the group stages.:jambo:

2 great goals by Germany but, even though the 2 CR goals were offsides, Germany must improve their defense if they wanna get any far in this WC.
