My gf has been on the pill for ages. The only risky thing about it is if they forget to take it. Which has never been an issue for her.

She will always go for more than a month before going on the "sugar pills" though. Means she has less to worry about, and means more time for me

It is almost as effective because it releases hormones (progesterones) and prevent ovulation. Thats called the NuvaRing here.

It has less side effects too than the pill.

Another option is the DepoProvera which is an injection done every 3 months at the Doctor's office. Its good if you don't wanna take 1 pill a day. Thats an alternative to the Ring.

Nuvaring here too. It's as effective as the pill, not almost. At least that's what their site said. And I think a gyno would tell you if one thing was better than the other.
